Anyone else having problems with Tracked Packet?

I've used it just a few times so far and two of the items with tracked packet show "We could not find this Tracking Number in our system" when I click on the no. on My eBay Sold listings.


 


I've double checked that I had entered the no. correctly and also entered it on Canada Post Tracking on CP website with the same results.


 


Anyone else having a problem with it?

Anyone else having problems with Tracked Packet?

No tracking available....


 


Canada Post has lot to "clean up" with respect to Tracked Packet...


 


The latest thing is "no tracking found" when the number is entered for tracking.


 


 


 


The following  has been present on their website since January 14.


 


I went to detemine a cost for a parcel to the US..


 


entered my postal code and code 10021


 


weight 0.9 kg... and size 27 x 24 x 3 ... all cm


 


Get counter rates and then to Ventureone rates....


 


 


 


I find two values for tracked packet to the US


 


The correct  value for Tracked Packet USA is $18.37.


 


 


The other value is $58.07... and is for Tracked Packet International   to Malaysia or Singapore.  Why here?


 


I have sent emails to Canada Post.... Forwarded a letter through a Canada Post employee who did an audit at the local postal outlet.


 


Evidently  they must think I am wrong...


 


Maybe I should write to the head of Canada Post...

I just talked to a CP rep and he says that you can go to USPS and track it there (since mine were both to US not Intl). 


 


He didn't actually seem too worried that it wasn't showing up on CP website. 


 


So he found the info for the one I mailed last week through USPS and tracking seems to be working okay.  The other one I just mailed today so I'll check it next week.


 


It p's me off that it isn't working on CP site but I am glad it is working.


 


Yes, CP has a lot of cleaning up to do.

Why does CP have "cleaning up to do" when it is info from the United States handled by the USPS?


 


You are paying for a service from Canada that it is up the USPS to administer. See any potential problems with that?


 


Tracking in the USA does not work, never has, never will. They do not always scan at Customs. Maybe they scan at delivery, maybe not. Maybe they scan in bulk a day or so before, maybe not.

Tracking for Tracked Packet USA shows on the US website.


 


Yet  it is a Canada Post shipping option that does not show up as tracking on Canada Post...

Anyone else having problems with Tracked Packet?

Out of three Tracked Packet items I've shipped, only one shows up on CP site.  It certainly is supposed to show up on CP, the same as Canada  Expedited and Expedited Parcel US do.  I want to be able to just click on the tracking no. on My ebay and be able to see the status.


 


Even if USPS does pick up the tracking once it enters the US, I still want to see the status of my packages in Canada. 


 


I'm glad they've introduced the Tracked Packet option but they better get it to work.

To those who have used Tracked Packet,how do you find the rates vs.the Small Packet/Light Packet.It seems to be more expensive.I thought they were going to introduce a more economical way with the elimination of Small Packet/Light Packet.


Any thoughts?

Small Packet and Light packet have not been eliminated. Only Small Packet USA SURFACE has been discontinued. Small Packet USA Air still exists but with no $100 insurance included. Small International Surface and Air have still exist but have no insurance.


 


Light Packet still exists but it does not show on the Canada Post web site Find a Rate calculator. It still exists in the description of services on Canada Post and in PayPal shipping and at the post office.


 


As for rates for Tracked Packet, they are higher than Small Packet but lower than Expedited Parcel USA and Xpresspost USA and International.

To clarify, this is true for the regular rates at the Post Office. Expedited Parcel USA when purchased through PayPal shipping at the 25% discount is cheaper than Tracked Packet counter rates most of the time.


 


PayPal shipping is supposed to give a discount on Tracked Packet which may be in the 10% or higher range. PayPal shipping will introduce the discount "soon" when Pracked Packet is finally added tp PayPal shipping according to eBay staff from posts in these forums.

My last parcel shipped using Tacked Packed USA on March 1 was trackable through Canada Post's website...


 


Only one of about 4 previously mailed using Tracked Packet USA was trackable through Canada Post.


 


Definitely a problem with tracking ths option through Canada Post...


 


will continue to follow any future parcels using Tracked Packet USA

When will PayPal Shipping include Tracked Packert?  I am still waiting and waiting and waiting!!  It said "early February" and here we are nearly in the middle of March!!  Hey, PayPal don't be slowpoke and do it NOW!!


 


It is bad enough that insurance is removed from small packets Air and we are stuck with nothing to protect ourself in other mail service. I had to take risk and ship 2 valuable packages without insurance this week as I was waiting for Tracked Packet via PayPal Shipping.


 


Don't bother telling me to go to the post office and have them done as I am mobility limited and rely on PayPal Shipping 24/7.   I am not willing to have someone to go to the post office and do for me as I prefer to do myself should there be any errors by clerks which were often from my past experiences before I learned of PayPal Shipping.
