The thing they do not tell you though is that you need to call them and get an account number. If you don't, you will only get the 3% online discount. I didn't bother with it for almost a year because I only saw the 3% discount and did not feel it was worth it, until the good folks here pointed out the account number. I figure I could have saved about $1000 had I known. Thank you to the wonderful CP rep who failed to point that out when I originally called and set up the account.

It's because your rep didn't care. He must have changed position the day after you had a talk with him.

I'm new to Electronic Shipping Tools. Does it really require a laser printer? Has anyone done it before with a dot matrix (that's what I have). Thanks for any help.

Dot Matrix printer won't work. Ink Jet may do the work, but Laser is better (and cheaper)

You don't get an additional 10% off, you just get the 10% off

I tried to use the desktop EST a couple of years(?) back when it was first offered by CPC. I immeidately decided against using it because I can't do one copy-and-paste of the buyer's name and address onto the form. (I just don't type well). Has the EST software made any change since then?
Plus if I use the regional xpresspost plastic envelope, I save over 30% or more depending on the destination.
Regarding the cost of the inkjet printer ink. I bought a refill-kit on ebay for a song. I can refill a HP ink cartridge-printhead many many time before it goes south. So cost is not an issue if you don't mind getting your fingers dirty.

I use a program called clip mate. It allows me to copy the address in one shot (from my paypal invoice or my marketworks invloce) and "explode" it into each field on the EST screen (no typing) that combined with pre-setted containers (size and weight) makes me spend about 15 seconds per transaction (at the most)
Clip Mate is available for a 30 day trial, they have easy to follow tutorials. It can also be used with the online versios, UPS, FedEx or anything else. I cannot longer use a computer that does not have clip mate installed.... 😉

I tried to use EST, but the rate it show me is same as in postoffice for Small package USA (CND3.95). Somebody in here told to me I can get the discount for small package USA also. Can you tell me it's correct or not? How to do it? I got the discount for shipment in Canada.
Thanks,
