Hello All
I have been recently made a power seller and am still trying to figure out what exactly it means....and how people meet the criteria.
I am honored to be given such a designation....but the more I look around...the more I am wondering if this is such an honour.
Check out this person...
http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=shawnsdeals
He averages 30 negatives a month, and the positives don't look so great either. Yet this person retains his power seller status. Why..? Because he spends big money on Ebay...I am beginning to wonder..?
I am defiantly not feeling quite that honoured anymore...?

dtech,
I am insulted that one loser has you feeling that PS status is a bad thing. PS status rocks! His total feedback numbers first of all do not make him a big player nencessarily.
Second, he is still trading becuse the bidders or dealers that he has burned have not filed for final value fees after they lost out. Three of those and he would have been a goner. He might have come back under a new ID but he would have had to start again with a feedback of 0.
Third, for any one (or fifty) of these bums, there are hundreds or thousands of fantasic Power Sellers who can be an inspiration to you every day on the PS.ca and PS.com board. These people must meet the PS criteria month in month out and work their butts off to do it.
So let's not dwell on the scud-head above, OK?
Welcome!

dtech,
Keep in mind it takes eBay a couple of months to catch up with PS'ers that don't meet the criteria (98% positive). Given that this seller has 32 negs in just the last month I feel pretty confident he will be removed when next reviewed.
In the meanwhile - relax! There is no need to paint all powersellers with a tar brush because you found one with a bad rap sheet.
Cheers!

Far and away most of the Powersellers I've dealt with have been very pleasant people with good business ethics. I did meet one bad one, but he seems to have mended his ways--he's blocked anyway, so i don't worry about him. Most PSs go out of their way to deal well with their buyers-we understand that we all need people to have pleasant ebay experiences to keep coming back! Our livlihoods depend on it. If a few haven't figured it out, they'll not fare well in the long run. There are always a few bad apples in a large group, but buyers do catch on. Don't worry so much about others and do your best to be as competent and professional as you can. Gloria

dtech,
Welcome aboard! You will certainly enjoy being a PS and having access to the many wonderful sellers who post here. One bad apple does not spoil the whole buch. Looking forward to seeing you post.

Apparently others have shared my sentiment.
I will "bump" them as I find them.
