I just restarted my shop a few days ago to sell my World of Warcraft TCG cards. I listed a few of them already then when I happen to list a specific card, ebay pops the error message on me.
Attention Seller! It appears you are offering virtual game items (gaming accounts, currency, leveling, etc). These items are not permitted in the eBay Marketplace as a stand-alone product or as a bonus item. Please revise your listing by removing the non-permitted items. |
This is the title I tried to use to list my card name Remulos, Son of Cenarius which Ebay blocks me from listing it. The other listing have similar title like this and it listed just fine:
So I decided to call Ebay to see why some of the card names could not be listed (Lots of cards). After 1 whole hour and 4 redirects, they come to the conclusion that I can't put the word World of Warcraft in some of the titles. I'm trying to sell World of Warcraft trading cards and they telling me that I can't put that in my title because there's a virtual game with that title. World of Warcraft also have miniatures and etc, why would they ban the world World of Warcraft in our listing?

Even worst now, not only can you not include World of Warcraft in the discription, but the world "Warcraft" would also trigger the listing block. So the only thing we are reduce to for listing World of Warcraft TCG is "WOW"
And can you guess how many listing there are with the word "WOW" in the title?

Don't know, but I won't be using "game" cause TCG already means Trading Card Game.

I'm pretty sure that ebay does not allow WoW items to be sold outside of the ebay classifieds (Kijiji). That may be where you're running into trouble.

Virtual items for the online world of warcraft game are banned as all virtual items are (but extra enforcement for wow since Blizzard goes nuts over it)
Ops item is like a hockey card that ebay even has a specific category for and is allowed. Their automated system ahs confused it with a virtual item as we've seen weird things with trademark names affecting other things like Cartier on a stamp. You wont like get anywhere with customer service over it op, simialr things have come up occassionally for years

Personally, I'd like to see L@@K and "vintage" banned from eBay, the former because it's annoying and pointless, the latter because it's been overused to the point of being meaningless.
