CANADA POST IS IMPLEMENTING THE RATE CHANGES TO THEIR SMALL PACKET RATE OR OVERSIZED ENVELOPE RATE ON AUG 22ND ANYTHING NOT PRINTED MATTER WILL BE CHARGED THE NEW RATE 2.49 ABOUT 40% HIGHER AND COME JAN 2007 THE PRICE WILL DOUBLE SO MAILING A CASSETTE,CD'S, SPORTS OR NON SPORTS CARDS IN PLASTIC TOP LOADERS WILL NOW COST 3.56 FOR UNDER A 100 GRAMS INSTEAD OF 1.78 /
SO FOR EVERYONE WHO CHEERED THAT THEY BACKED OFF DOING THIS LAST MONTH IT'S TIME FOR A REALITY CHECK THIS TIME NO WARNING THEY'RE JUST GOING TO DO IT ON AUG 22ND / SO NOW THE PRINTED MATTER WHICH USED TO BE CHEAPER BEFORE THEY KILLED IT 6-7 YEARS AGO IS NOW BACK AT A HIGHER PRICE AND THE GREEDY PEOPLE AT CANADA POST DON'T GIVE A DAMN BECAUSE IF YOU LOOK AT THE RECORDS THEY HAVE NEVER LOST ANY MONEY
THE EXCUSE GIVEN IS THAT IT'S THE USA POSTAL SYSTEMS FAULT THEY SHOULD GET A REALITY CHECK THE USA POST OFFICE DOES'T CARE WHAT WE MAIL AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T BLOW UP

You are way, way, way behind on what is happenning here. pPease review this thread

http://forums.ebay.ca/thread.jspa?threadID=500011342&tstart=0&mod=1155586019577

and at a minimum send in some complaints to the contacts listed. I would suggest not doing so all in caps.

Sadly it appears many can't interupt their busy days posting gifs or whining on ebay messageboards to bother

Punctuation would be a bonus, too.

teaser777,

Thank you for your post. I will be going into details of Canada Post's new Light Packet service shortly on the boards, but please let me clarify what happens at the Post Office on August 21, 2006. And please, let me state these are the facts I have merely received from Canada Post directly.

Light Packet is being offered to customers who want to mail a USA or International item that:
- Weighs less than 500 grams;
- Has a maximum dimension of 380mm x 270mm x20mm;
- Does not require traceability;
- Does not require insurance coverage;
- Contains non-paper goods.

Light Packet prices will be the same us Letter-post rates, except at the middle weight step. With Light Packet, the price is $3.74 for any item shipped to the US between 100g-250g; with Letter-post, the price is $2.99 for any item shipped to the US between 100g-200g.

Regards,

Lilybean

Add in it MUST be paid for at the post outlet, and if its below 100 grams/5mm it is still the 100 gram rate, while letter has lower rate breaks.

A bare cd in an envelope (like canada post works with zip.ca to ship lettermail .51 rate domestically) can no longer go .89 to USA, its 1.78 now for a 100% increase.

I can print out postage for an insured, tracked, service guaranteed item which they have to take my word for I put in a mail box, slap it on a shoebox size box I've hidden drugs and a handgun in, an drop it in a mailbox. But I can't put a cd with some photos on it in a 5mm thick envelope in the mail box with a 1.79 stamp. Just insane.

Canada Post just wants to severly enforce this new ridiculous rule for the middle weight step of 100g-250g. It's blatantly obvious that they conducted extensive studies to see how they could maximize new bogus profits to add to their overflowing coffers. They saw that the 100g-200g range is the most utilized and capitalized on that by charging 250g prices on 100g-200g items. Unreal...

What they're doing with the 100g-200g range is like an unscrupulous business person charging $50 for a $1 bottle of water after a humanitarian disaster. (and he stole the water)

Canada Post is a despicable, greedy, bloated company and should have to answer to these moronic changes.
