CANADA POST OPENING AN INVESTIGATION INTO HOLIDAY SHIPPING MISSING PACKAGES

Canada Post is opening up an investigation into holiday missing packages from Dec 5th and Dec 14-16th. A customer service commercial specialist just contacted me and the investigation is being launched from the Mississauga Gateway Postal Facility. Mr. Peddle listened to my issues with patience and respect. He was extremely knowlegeable about Canada Post operations and promised me that he would get back to me on Tuesday with his preliminary findings AND the results of the investigation by Friday. He even gave me his personal cell phone number!!!! If anyone out there still have packages missing from these shipping dates...please let me know and I will forward this information to Mr. Peddle.

I filed a claim for a lost small packet air to Australia more than 10 days ago.( The parcel was shipped in mid January). I am still waiting to even hear back from Canada Post.

if you only filed your claim 10 days ago you've got a long time to wait. As you can see my claims were filed JANUARY 29TH and 30TH and I'm still waiting. I just got the request for further info letters a week ago (dated by Canada Post March 9th). What the heck were they doing with the claims for over a month? 😉 Gail

btw fyi: Music Manufacturing just emailed me today to tell me the price per bundle of 50 lp mailers has gone up 50%!

I emailed Dave Larson (my rep) back and expressed my disappointment/shock at a 50% price increase. he replied:
"We'll at least you were getting a great deal for a while.
sorry for the bad news."
Star Records in Oshawa has maielrs they've sourced from another supplier that are better than MMS (althouh they're $1.10/piece.)
Bags Unlimited in Rochester works out to around 0.67/piece on an order of 200. Less per piece when you buy more --- but we can only fit 200 in our vehicle unfortunately.

Maybe time to my A## in gear and see how many are required for a custom order of my own. I even have an idea for a better design but with the previous reasonably priced and convienient supply I haven't bothered.

Prices are ok (not fabulous) but I think the shipping to Canada would be the killer.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I lost about 50 packages that were shipped on the 16th of December. I contacted Canada Post and they had the area rep call me. He had me drop off my next load at the post office I had dropped off on the 16th and indicated that he made sure they made it to the facility. They did make it, and that was the last I heard from him.

I did call him today however as so far, I have had 8 packages go missing from my Friday February 24th shipment. Has anyone had any trouble whith this date??

Something HAS to be done. I didn't know there were others like me but now that I've found you all I have more ground to stand on. I am going to get together whatever information I can and seriously talk to Canada Post (again) about this issue. I agree with the user who said "There is definitely something wrong with that sorting facility"

Take a look at my earlier comments, I gave the phone number of Frank Peddle of Can Post who has been escalating the issue. I told him quite clearly that I suspect that it could be a theft ring, that target small packet air as they are not trackable. I also stated that all they had to do was look at the custom declaration to decide if it was worth "borrowing". I had 5 items that went MIA back in December, I have just now recieved an insurance check on one item, I'm waiting for the others. The actual time and effort has been horrendous.
There is a major problem that the post office must acknowledge, contrary to their current Ebay ads that show everything is just perfect.We all need to SHOUT and be noticed, let me know if you need any more info,

I was also mixed up in this mess (The Dec. 6th one) but all my packages were eventually delivered. From all that I have gleaned on the subject I'm 99% sure that ALL the trouble was in the USA AFTER Canada Post had turned over the mail.

Hi all,
I woke up this morning to two emails from customers who have not recieved their packages that we sent out on March 6th 2006 by small packets. Now I have had one or per shipment go astray now and then but not two from the same shipment like this. Any one else missing things shipped on March 6th?

I also believe that there was a large increase in theft after Canada Post is now printing the value of the Item on the shipping label as well as the description of the contents. My "gone Missing" doubled after they started to do this.

Where were they going? Too early to panic.

Tell your buyers 10 - 14 business days and to expect them next week.

I always state '2 to 4 weeks' (even to the next city) except @ Xmas, when it's '2 to 8 weeks'.

Buyers are USUALLY happy when it arrives faster then promised.
