Hi Powersellers,

I wonder if anybody ever have got good experience with Seller protection from Paypal?

I was scummed a coupe times, but I did shipment to non-confirmed address (i.e. transaction doesn't qualify).

Also, does anybody know if Bidpay M.O. can be cancelled? I think it shouldn't be...

Any payment security experience you willing to share(not necessary Paypal one) will be appreciated.

Hi itRecovery,

I've never used PayPal so I can't help you there, but I do use BidPay and definitely NO, the money order cannot be cancelled once it has been mailed. I always ship when BidPay tells me they've mailed the M.O. and I've never yet been sorry!

I've never had a problem with shipping to confirmed paypal addresses.

Prior to changing my auction terms, I did get burned a couple of times with unconfirmed addresses - usually around this time of year... "hey, can you ship to my nephew for xmas?"

Glenda - beg to differ. My DH had one cancelled when the seller suddenly got NARUd and wouldn't answer emails. To boot, he was racking up all kinds of negs, too. Took no time at all.

I'd be careful with Bidpay. Just like Paypal there are some risks. Buyers can and do sometimes cancel the money order after it's sent. I've had one guy try it - he cancelled the money order 2 days after I got notice that payment was made. The money order was already mailed then it shows "payment stopped" on my Bidpay account. Fortunately, payment was made on a Friday and I hadn't yet sent out the $200 item. But I emailed him to ask why he stopped payment and got no response. So I let him think that I sent it out and he was going to scam me out of $200. I've heard of people going through the same sort of scenario but actually sending the item and losing out. Apparently, Bidpay doesn't do anything to help the seller either - check out www.bidpaysucks.com for somebody else's story. Apparently, you can't count on the money order until it's cashed.

Wow! Maybe I'd better go back and reread the agreement -- they might have changed it! When I first signed up with them, the policy was that if you had already sent the item when the customer tried to do a chargeback on their CC, then BidPay would cover the amount. I guess I'm just lucky that I've never had to put it to the test!

www.bidpaysucks.com does not work? it only takes your stories.
is there another place where it has the stories?
I had a nightmare story and I am still in it at the moment. 2 months after this and the money order has still not been re-printed even tho the seller is helping me out on the phone with them.

I had one chargeback on Paypal. I was so peeved because I knew in my heart that the idiot got the parcel. To add insult to injury he left me a neg. He figured I couldn't do anything about it but I bluffed him. Found out the phone #'s in his town, of the Post Master, the DA's office, and the police dept. and told him I'd filed a fraud report with the PO and was getting ready to contact the police and DA's office. Lo and behold, he suddenly got the dvd. I then made him repay me via Paypal. I didn't leave him a neg at that time as he was a zero. Figured he'd only start over with a new id so I waited. On a weekly basis I watched his id to see if he had any action.

I saw that he held several auctions. I investigated his auctions a bit (the bidding) and saw some OBVIOUS shilling, so I left him a neg........and then he emailed me warning me that he would get me. So I reported him for shill bidding and both that id, and his other shill id were instantly naru'd. Boy, it almost made that neg he gave me worth it.......the satisfaction I got from nailing the SOB. lol (I know, I have too much time on my hands)

Wow... I also didn't realize Bidpay M.O's cound be cancelled. I actually have a couple of them filed, waiting for the US$ to recover a bit.... maybe I shouldn't take this chance and get them in the bank....

How does Western Union cancel a guaranteed payment item (ie a money order) after issue?
