While some are accepted, some are not.
What you should consider is Buyer Protection.
If you use a credit card that is based on your credit rating, if something goes wrong, in addition to the Buyer Protection offered by eBay and Paypal, your credit card will have a chargeback system in place.
If you use a prepaid card, there will be no chargeback provision.
This is a rare problem, but it does exist.
