Canada Post Online Shipping Tool Help

For some items, when I try to pay for postage online through paypal, it does not let me select the Small Packet option. Only Xpresspost, Expedited and Regular Parcel are available. However, the item I'm shipping is small and fits into a normal sized envelope and is not heavy. Does this have to do with the ebay category I listed in? How do I make the small packet option appear?

Thanks!

For Small Packet, there are minimum as well as maximum dimensions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "normal sized envelope" but it's likely that it's too small to qualify for Small Packet. You should be able to qualify for the Light Packet option.

In some circumstances, sellers just place postage stamps on the envelope and send via lettermail. It all depends on what is being sold and the willingness to skirt the rules.

Thanks for the replies. I managed to make it appear if I did it through Paypal.

One good thing I noticed is that all packages have a trackable number that you can use in case the buyer claims the item never arrived. However, I find it very time consuming and annoying to print the lablels and tape them onto the packages. I've gone through 2 rolls of tape in 2 days for only 15-20 packages!

wesellanything-i thought those numbers that come up too were actually tracking numbers, but they're not...you only get tracking numbers on expedited shipments-the ones that begin with cx..
and i know if you punch in the numbers with canada post tracking, it shows item electronically inputted, but that's all it'll ever show you..nothing else..
and yes...it is time consuming..cutting the postage slip in half and then taping onto the package...blah...

It would be considereably cheaper for you to order the FREE poly adhesive pouches directly from Canada Post. Sorry, you will still have to print the label though.

Canada Post Online Shipping Tool Help

Hello,

Order the clear plastic sleeves for your shipping labels from the Canada Post Web Site. They are called LABELOPES (#520012555) and self stick to your parcels. They are free if you have a Venture One number...very easy to obtain if you haven't by now. I order 50 at a time along with FRAGILE STICKERS (533086106). They arrive at my door in 2-3 days via Xpresspost. Check out the thread by eBay's lilybean "Canada Post Light Packet service on the eBay shipping tool" on the top of Discussion Board. VERY HELPFUL!

i use those...whenever i can..i think they're great for small non breakable items, but, yes...there will always be the taping etc...
unless you purchase the self adhesive paper to print the postage slips on, but then we're talking big bucks..

by the way wesellanything...i was going through ridiculous amounts of tape too, so i went to home depot and bought a ten pack for 30.00-sounds like alot, but the rolls are VERY thick and last three times the amount of other rolls you buy elsewhere...

Order a supply of "labelopes" from Canada Post. They're free like the poly mailers, and they're the perfect size for the labels printed through PayPal or the electronic shipping tools.
