Did I miss an announcement about changes to caps for shipping cost?
I just saw this mentioned on one of the .com boards, apparently this changed a few months ago.
(I know theses are for listings on .com, not .ca, but many of us do list on .com)
Maximum shipping costs by category
The table below shows the maximum shipping costs for the Books, DVDs & Movies, Music, and Video Games categories.
the table is at this link:

The announcement on the .ca announcement board and the paypal policy update page do not have the same starting date for the 180 day claim window. Is the correct date Nov 18 or Jan 7?
From the .ca board
http://announcements.ebay.ca/2014/11/19/7650/
Beginning November 18, the latest updates to PayPal’s User Agreement and policies will take effect, with important implications for both buyers and sellers who use PayPal on eBay
To help bring its purchase protection policies in line with the coverage many buyers receive when they pay for a product or service by credit card, PayPal will now give buyers up to 180 days from payment to file a PayPal dispute for an item that wasn’t received or was not as described.

Amendments to the PayPal User Agreement
Effective Date: January 7, 2015
We’re increasing the time for buyers to file a merchandise dispute (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days. All references in the User Agreement to “Opening a Dispute within 45 days” have been updated to reflect “Opening a Dispute within 180 days.” The Sections these changes appear include the introduction, 13.2 and 13.5.

Disappointed once again.
This would really help our sales if we could keep the purchase history on the listings on which we run out of stock.
I don't understand how it protects the sellers in the GSP. I thought it was for listings that ran out of stock. How does GSP factor into that?

Hi westerstarngifts,
There were 2 different announcements we discussed earlier in the thread. The GSP one that impacts US sellers only has nothing to do with the new out of stock feature.
Hope this helps 🙂

Hi pjcdn2005,
Unfortunately this is only for US sellers. These measures are in place to protect their performance standards against defects coming from sales they make via GSP.
GSP sellers have always had those protections. I believe the announcement is for non gsp sellers. Near the end of the announcement it mentions that the sellers could also use the gsp to sell which says to me that the previous info is for non gsp sellers.
So don’t miss out—sell with confidence to millions of eager international buyers now. Just include the above countries as those you’ll ship to in the shipping details section of your listings. That way, they’ll show up for buyers in these countries automatically. Or—if you’d like your international transactions handled for you—find out how eBay’s Global Shipping Program makes selling to more than 60 countries as easy as domestic

The situation remains the same for now.
Do you have any idea what sort of priority eBay is giving this problem? I would think that one of the most critical things to get right on a commercial website is the ability for buyers to easily and seamlessly check out, wherever they are and wherever they are buying from.
I honestly have difficulty understanding why this is taking so long to resolve. I understand this may be a complicated problem to work out, but I don't understand why so many other features are being introduced and other changes being made before this has been tackled.

Can't really say what happened for sure on this one, but in case of disparity I would go with what PayPal has in place on their web site.

I agree, that's precisely how I read that announcement too. If it is for GSP-only sellers, it should be made clearer.

In all honesty, everyone here at the eBay Canada office agrees with you that this should be prioritized with greater urgency, and it's not for lack of trying on our part. We continue to work towards this.

After a closer read, I think you are right. In any case this is not for Canadian sellers.

I'm full of questions/comments today. 🙂
Regarding comments on previous board sessions....Rodney had asked me if I had really only received two emails and/or messages about promotions in the last year and I didn't see the question until it was too late to answer.
The 'two' was a guess but I definitely received only a few email or messages about the promotions. For example, I was eligible for the last two promotions but I didn't receive any notice about them. Of course a person can check selling manager every single day 'just in case' but it doesn't make sense why some sellers who are invited to the promotions get messages about them and why other sellers don't.

I have been engaging with the US promo team to figure out a permanent solution to address the missing email promo notifications for Legacy members. I think we are nearing a resolve for this and should be able to implement it on promos as early as January.

Why not? Does ebay not want to encourage Canadian sellers to sell outside of North America?
It wouldn't be that difficult to include Canadians.

I am not a legacy member so that has nothing to do with it in my case.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I mentioned 2 Wed. meetings ago that I was getting an error message when attempting to access the Seller Performance Reports. The error message is reproduced again below.
Ryanne said he'd done something to remove the error message. The trouble is that now the link to "Seller Performance Reports" is completely gone too. (You get to that link through Dashboard, then look at the panel of options to the left). Are these reports actually no longer available, or is this a glitch? I've never been able to access them, although they were supposed to be introduced with the Spring Seller Update. Thanks!

I don't think anyone has answered yet? According to some of the sellers on the U.S. boards there was no announcement about this. It was just quietly implemented.

Nor am I (I don't believe), and I rarely get email notification of promos.

This has to do with how the Standards programs are separated. US sellers have their own program on which they can put any specific parameters. Canadian sellers are on the Global program, which also serves all sellers in the every country except UK and Germany where they also have their own respective programs. It's unfortunately not possible to create rules for Canadian sellers under the Global program without impacting the rest of the world.

Hi rose-dee,
This report no longer exists which is why the link was removed. There is just the detailed seller rating report.
Thanks,
Ryanne
