Delivery Time From China

I bought 4 hockey hobby boxes from a seller in China. There is no tracking number and the seller said it should arrive around Jan. 15.

I paid Dec. 17. So It's getting close to day 45. How long do shipments from China usually take? What day should a open a dispute?

Thanks.

I've never ordered from China but many posters have said they have received their item at around 30 days but there are also some who said it has taken longer.

If there was an estimated arrival date from ebay on the order details or on the listing you have 30 days after the latest delivery date to file a claim through them. But I probably wouldn't wait much longer than 40 days from shipping to file. You can always repay the seller when/if you receive the item.

A buyer can report in My eBay that they didn't receive an item once the item's latest estimated delivery date has passed, and for 30 days after the latest estimated delivery date.

Have you checked the sellers feedback to see if they have a lot of complaints about items not being received? That would probably be a factor for me in deciding when to open the claim.

Open a Dispute at the latest on Day 42.

If the seller cannot prove delivery, you will be refunded.

If the item shows up later, you can refund the refund by using Paypal's Send Money service.

Thirty days is plenty. It is up to the seller, wherever she is on the planet to get your purchase to you in a prompt and secure manner.

And if your seller offers to send a replacement, refuse and go for the Dispute immediately. That's a recent but very popular scam.

Also take into account that you payed dec 17. That lands your transaction right in the christmas postal chaos season. In this case we would wait until day 43 to open a case.

File a claim immediately, today.

Your seller has ZERO feedback and these lots are way too valuable to send my mail without tracking.

There are a few possibilities:

1) the seller never shipped

2) the seller shipped and the goods confiscated at Canada Customs as fakes

3) the seller shipped and the goods will arrive later

4) the seller shipped the the goods have been lost, damaged or stolen in transit.

Your first priority is to get your money back.  Should the goods arrive eventually in satisfactory condition you can then repay the seller.

Why do I suggest "fake"?  For example:

PANINI DOMINION HOCKEY BOX HOBBY are manufactured in the USA.  Genuine unopened boxes are generally sold by Canadian and American sellers in the US$300 to $400 range.

The question I ask myself is: what would a Chine seller do with such item if genuine?  Hockey cards in China? Why sell these American made items (if genuine) for that much less than sellers do in Canada and the USA?

If I am looking at the right transactions, the total cost of those items are over $800. I can't imagine anyone sending a package worth that much without any sort of tracking so that sounds a bit sketchy too.

Thanks for your advice everyone. I opened disputes yesterday. I just saw the very good price I was getting on these items and made bids.

Now I remember one other time I bought a few individual "In The Game" hockey cards from a seller in China and there was no problem.

But this time it's for a lot more money!
