I purchased an item and wanted delivery to an address that is not my primary address. I indicated the delivery address when I made my paypal payment and have a receipt (from ebay) to that effect. The seller has a receipt from ebay with my primary address. The item was delivered to my primary address but I wanted it somewhere else.

How did this happen and what can be done to prevent it in the future?

on your next (similar) transaction to prevent this just go to your ebay account and change your primary address to the new address you want item to be shipped to, confirming then delivery address the same address, you will be able later to rechange your account info to the original address you call primary. . since when computerized into the ebay shipment system your account data information will be the sole activated address, any variations won t be registered in case of shipping dispute..............(.. i never worked for ebay but for Ups and that s what happened many times over there) bye m.v52

Sellers are required to ship to the Paypal address. If you did not add an additional address and selected it when you made payment, the seller is not obligated to ship to the additional address. Sellers lose seller protection if the ship to an address that is not in paypal.

Add the additional address to your paypal acccount and select it when you want items to go to that location.

Non payers should get unpaid item strikes and be added to block bidders lists. Period.

The PAYPAL address is the one the seller is required to use. PP will allow several addresses to be on one of their accounts. Why? They are sometimes referred to a 'gift' addresses.
