Does eBay verify sellers listing category before posting? As an example why should "T-shirts" be listed in the same category as duck calls?

While searching under "duck calls" why do some sellers get to have their other items listed under the category "duck calls" when they should be listed under the clothing category?

Does eBay not not verify the correct category before posting sellers items?

Nope, eBay doesn't check.  Not their problem. It is up to the seller to determine the best category for their item so as to give it the best chance of being found by interested buyers.

Look at the listing for the shirts. They are probably have logos for duck call manufacturers or hunting or whatever.  And/or have the words "duck" and "call" in the listing title.
