Doesn't eBay take credit cards

I found this:

Here's what we found for "How to pay for items with credit cards"

Credit card payments on eBay are processed through PayPal, so you can use a card to pay for an item even if the seller only accepts PayPal. There are 2 ways to pay with a credit card:

If it’s linked to your PayPal account
  1. Select pay with PayPal at checkout.
  2. Select the card you'd like to pay with.
  3. Select Continue to complete your purchase.
If you don’t have a PayPal account, or your card isn’t linked
  1. Select the option to pay with a credit card at checkout.
  2. Enter your payment information. If you want us to save your credit card information so you don't have to enter it every time, check the box to Save this card to eBay.
  3. Select Continue to complete your purchase.

If you want to link a credit card to your PayPal account, go to your Wallet on paypal.com and link a card.

When you pay using PayPal, you’re covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. If you choose to pay by credit card, you aren’t covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee, but you may be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection or your credit card provider.

----------

So, you will need to put your credit card details into PayPal.com, not eBay. If you decide to sell, you will need to put one on eBay:

----------

Here's what we found for "How do I add or change credit card details in my seller account?"
Each month, you can automatically charge your seller fees directly to the credit or debit card you place on file.

To add or edit a credit or debit card to your seller account:
  1. Go to My eBay. You may need to sign in.
  2. Place your pointer over the Account tab, and then click Seller Account.
  3. In the Payment methods for Seller Fees section, under Automatic payment method, click the Change link.
  4. Select Credit Card from the drop-down menu, and then click the Set up Automatic Payments button.
  5. Enter your credit or debit card information, and then click the Continue button. If you're adding a new card, you'll be asked to authorize it.

----------

I hope this helps you.

Doesn't eBay take credit cards

EBay is not a store, it is more like a shopping mall.

Each purchase is from an individual seller, most of whom cannot accept credit cards directly.

While eBay recently made it possible for buyers to use their credit cards directly, Paypal does offer slightly more protection to the buyer with a six month dispute mechanism.

In addition, many other sites take PP and it can even be used person to person. I have used it to contribute to group presents in my family, to buy memberships in science fiction conventions, and to make contributions to crowdfunded projects.

If you run into problems in future, first ask the seller to help. If she doesn't, come here for further advice from us busybodies your fellow members.

Doesn't eBay take credit cards

Hello 'nel9434',

<<Doesn't eBay take credit cards? >>

Of course it does.  Ebay makes it very easy to buy.

At the checkout you simply choose the Credit Card option and then enter your personal and card information, click to continue, click to confirm and you're done.

Nothing could be easier.

It is a good idea to make sure the address you register on ebay matches the address on the card statement exactly.  If your name and address match exactly that will go along way towards avoiding those 'payment declined' problems.

Using one's own card is easy.  Using someone else's,  not so much. Smiley Wink

Happy shopping!
