Ebay, PLEASE STOP THE "FREE SHIPPING" SCAM

Looks like nobody buy their "free shipping" idea and ebay have to extend the free shipping "promotion" thru March 31, 2009.

Not always. I have seen a few of my own listings and some from other sellers that did not get preferred placement. It seems to work for some items and not others. This may have something to do with recent sales on that listing.

Xena, I'm like you, I only do a few, about 20 listings in 500. Of course I don't offer it on small ticket items. I do it on my higher priced items which are my out of print books that can fetch quite a bit at auction. I was actually selling most of these items for about $5 less than my competitors but now match my competitors price and offer the free shipping. I especially like to use it on items where I use a subtitle so I'll list at fixed price vs store listing to get the free subtitle bonus. It works great and drives traffic to my other listings. I also remove the full value of the free shipping discount from multiple item purchases which the buyer's really appreciate.

Some of you might have noticed that last weekend I decided to try to have some of my listings with Free Shipping for Canadian buyers.

I am glad to say they are working very well. I'm getting much more traffic to my store and lots of sales, over $300.00 in the last 2 days. That amount will take care of all my fees this month unless I happen to sell a ton more, which would be great.

Anyways, I didn't think free shipping would work for me, but I found a way. Every challenge that eBay gave me in the last year I did find a way to make it work for me.
