Ebay Wrongfully Temporary Restricted My Account Without Notice. What a JOKE.

I got a message from eBay restricting my account for 30 days from listing. I have the same PC computer game listed both are different conditions. One is Brand new one has a cracked case. Obviously a person with common sense would list these as two different items. Wrong....

According to the CS rep I spoke too I should have put both of them in the same listing... So basically according to her if I have two of the same item one is broken and one is brand new than according to what I am told by eBays customer service they belong in the same listing.........

And on top of this because the majority of the items I sell are in the DVD category, if have multiple duplicate listings since one DVD may be "Brand new" and another may be classified as "Very Good". And once again according to the eBay staff member these should be in the same listing...

So now my account is restricted for 30 days due to multiple duplicate listing violations...

Just clicking on the "DVD and Movies" category in the store also works, the offending items are in the "other" category....

I do not know that "offended" is the right word. I "think" you have distinct categories of products that may be better served by having another ID. Hanna Montana, followed by a pin-up girl, followed by Pokemon cards.

So you don't have a store? How did you list with categories?  Anyway, my question is why do you say "No returns" Doesn't eBay force you to accept returns?

No, I do not think the OP has a store, just 2200 listings. The listings appear to be broken down into the categories they were listed in, if I am understanding that correctly.

So, Spend, yer comment is not misplaced. Like minded merchandise goes well together. Some things, maybe not so much.

Correct, I do not have a store, I just list in the specific categories. I have considered an eBay store as at one point (less then a month ago) I was around 3,700 active listings I believe. 

As far as a store goes I have really considered it. But with this wrongful restriction and no one with proper authority to address the issue in a timely manner I doubt i'll add much more inventory to eBay to make a store worthwhile.

I honestly believe eBay is the best overall online marketplace to sell and I enjoy/enjoyed it, but the stupidity and lack of knowledge from the customer service blows my mind. 

I know eBay constantly changes things around but they should at least inform their own staff or educate them on their own new and existing rules before trying to enforce them on others.

Just realized I was logged into my other account for that post. Shuffling inventory around as they sort out the issue. 

And in case anyone is wondering, I asked prior to doing so with a restriction, You are still able to list on another seller account.

To answer your question the reason I do not accept returns is to avoid certain situations.

For example there has been many cases where people bought DVDs or Games new in stores, they accidentally broke or scratched their copy, they buy another one on eBay, swap the discs and then return it. Or they buy a movie, watch it and decide they do not want it any more so they would like to return for refund.

But overall I must say I have many repeat customers for my DVD's and very rarely have any issues. My customers are great and I appreciate their business ( I believe this has to do with the demographics of these customers) 

For video games and gaming cards it is not quite the same. These buyers tend to have many more questions about items, they are more specific, more picky. I also noticed a trend that overall customers buying games and gaming cards tend to be much more impatient. 

I try to take note on these customer trends I notice and tweak things to better suit their needs.

That is a great overall attitude, working with the customer and not against the customer. The ones who come here screaming the loudest tend to have the poorest attitudes towards buyers.

Building a loyal customer base is great. Most of my stuff is one-off. Now, take that same great attitude and use it towards eBay. You, be the better person. It will be like beating yer head against the wall, it feels so good when you stop.

My positive attitude is fading fast. This issue was supposed to be fixed already. The two phone calls I've received have all been false hopes and lies. The first Manager "Mets" from eBay trust and safety never called back after he said he was working to fix this issue. He said it would be done within 24 hours and this was 2 days ago. Manager #2 "Jing" from eBay restrictions and accounts specialist promised to have this fixed in 24-72 hours. Only a few hours until that 72 hours is up and I have heard nothing back. To many it is not a big deal, to me I rely on eBay to provide for myself for the time being. It's weird but it angers me that eBay does not care for its sellers. I like getting things done and cannot rest until I know whatever on my mind is taken care of. I honestly have not been the same since this has happened and it bothers me much more than it probably should.

If it sells and it's legal sell away partner take advantage of the twisted mind of men who would spend there money on pictures and clippings..

I just wish you had recorded the calls to customer service. I'm sure there would have been moments that put Comcast to shame (in the battle for First Place Worst Service, that is).

That said, I understand your problems as someone who sells in the media category. I had two copies of the same game, one with a certain part of the packaging and another without; to collectors, that part matters immensely. To a bot or an ebay CS rep who hasn't even ever used eBay personally, they might not see any difference.

Luckily, the titles were different. I never leave the pre-programmed titles as they are - I always add more details. That can drive sales, as some people might try searching for - to use DVDs as an example - the director, actor or studio's name, not just the title or release year.

Anyway, thanks for taking the fall for the rest of us, and letting me get a vicarious warning about this. And good luck getting the ban lifted.

Unfortunately I do not have the calls saved although I do have the names, department, country, and city of the individual reps I spoke with.

In terms of recording the calls from now on, I really should do that. Although I am not sure exactly how to do that.

Since my restriction I have moved inventory over to Amazon. Since my restriction I have been selling on average 9 items a day over there. 

Problem is I am unable to remove my inventory I have listed on eBay that has sold on Amazon. I called the pro's at eBay and all they do is instruct me on how to remove a listing.... With the restriction I am unable to. I also had a buyer buy an item pay for it and say his kid did it by mistake I am also unable to cancel the transaction for my FVF. 

It frightens me to know we all sellers on massive worldwide marketplace with no recourse or anyone to speak with of some type of authority. 

It's more then obvious eBay doesn't care, I get it. But why the have manager's lie and give false hopes to sellers? Promising to fix this error within a certain time frame and get back to me then never even call back or fix the issue.
