Hi all-
I got an email from Powerseller Program this morning, it just says:
Dear camrynscloset,
You are receiving this email regarding your PowerSeller status. For more information, please log in to the PowerSeller Portal and we will assist you from there.
Regards,
Your eBay PowerSeller Team
But I logged in and nothing was there...? No notices or anything? I haven't been keeping up with selling, so it is probably a "you are going to lose your status" thing...but I don't see any indicators anywhere, and the link to email PS support is currently "invalid"?
Any help, please?

You didn't mention if you checked the My Messages portion of your My eBay to see if the message was a valid e-mail from eBay. If the message isn't there you need to change your eBay password PRONTO in case you just gave your login information to some nasty spoofers.
Ernie.

Forward that e-mail you received to 'spoof@ebay.com'. If it tricked two Powersellers into biting then eBay should know about it to try to get the phisher page taken down.
Cheers,
Ernie.

Oh just one more thing... take it from a former IT security professional...
NEVER click on a link in an e-mail. I know eBay and PayPal and many other large entities send e-mails with links all the time when they should be discouraging this pratice, but you should always only log into a web page by going to Internet Explorer or Firefox or Safari or whatever browser you use to bring up the site and then log into your account.
Phisher e-mails are getting more sophisticated all the time and I've had friends who have been computer experts for over 20 years get tricked and almost-tricked into believing fake e-mails were real.
Cheers,
Ernie.

Certainly true but to state "NEVER click on a link in an e-mail." is simply ridiculous.

Not ridiculous -- just good advice. If you do feel compelled to click on a link in an email, make sure you "hover" over the link and verify the webpage address that link will take you to.
I got tricked yesterday by a person asking about one of my auctions (I thought). Usually its obvious, but it just so happens this one person asked a similarly worded question to the person before them. The only clue I got was when I logged into answer the question (by clicking on the big yellow "Respond Now" button) was that I basically was redirected to eBay's main page. I logged in once more before I clued in and hovered over the yellow button.
I'm glad I did -- the address was the "suspicious" IP address format: http://xx.xx.xx.xx/....
I immediately changed all my passwords.
Damn phishers. 🙂

the address is www.click2.ebay.com/ then a bunch of numbers. The funny thing is, I opened ebay and signed in and went to the page first, then, when I clicked the link (oops...duh) I was already signed in....
