So far everything was perfect until we got a customer from California that purchased Tignanello leather purse and after she received she open a case that the purse is fake . We tried to handle the situation but things went out of control. We approved the return request but we didnt received the purse back and she hold the purse and somehow she managed to make eBay to refund her. Need a bit more info. What did eBay say when you called them? What was their reason for refunding prior to the return? What is the item number?

Unfortunately when someone opens a case such as that the buyer gets to keep the item because it was not as described its quite a large loop hole in the system that attracts scammers and very dishonest buyers someone on here might have more information on this than i do,but as far as i know there isnt much you can do,as far as i know anyway

"We tried to handle the situation but things went out of control."
What does that mean, exactly?
Did you immediately offer the buyer a full refund upon return of the item?
Or did you tell the buyer she was wrong and things went out of control from there?

No.
The buyer is required to return the item to the seller before the refund is paid.
However, the seller is usually required to pay for that return.
Which is nearly impossible when buyer and seller are in different countries, a problem eBay has yet to face.
Did you refuse the return?

Now that she has been refunded there is no way to 'make' her send the purse back. When a buyer claims that an item is not as described, ebay requires the seller to pay for the return shipping back. As another poster mentioned, someone in Canada can't send a return label to someone in California so the buyer and seller have to come to an agreement about how to reimburse the buyer for return postage. If the seller refuses or does not send postage money to the buyer ahead of time...ebay will sometimes assume that you don't want the item back and will just refund the buyer.
If you haven't offered to pay for return shipping its possible that if you do so now, the buyer will be willing to send the item back but there is no way to force her to do so. If the bag and packaging is 1 -2 lbs the shipping via first class international will be US$15.50. If it is between 2 and 3lbs the cost will be at least $24. Is it in your best interest to pay for shipping and get the bag back or is it best just to move on? If the buyer agrees to send it back, let them know that they must buy the first class shipping online so that there is delivery confirmation included.
btw...I really doubt that there are fake Tiganello purses out there so more than likely the buyer didn't like it for some reason. Unfortunately, in a situation like this though there isn't much that you can do other than pay for the return and refund.

Sadly; the way ebay deal with this kind of situation is rarely..read never...in favor of the seller. There is about 5% of scammer on ebay. If you are not willing to cope with the lost of an item don't put it on ebay. As seller; we have no right on this platform.

"...We required pictures..."
Next time - whenever a customer claims an item is not as described (whether it is or not) - simply agree to a full and immediate refund upon return and receipt of the unacceptable item. There is nothing to gain by arguing with a buyer, ever (asking for pictures may be understood by many buyers as "I do not trust you").
Look at the odd unjustified return as a "cost of doing business". Do not take it personally.
And always "block" the bidder from any further purchases.

There is nothing you can do.
Whatever the buyer says or does is the truth according to eBay.
