Good morning/afternoon,

What is the status on Paypal being fixed? Some sellers have been having problems since Feb 16th. It is quite frustrating as it took about 20 minutes to print one label yesterday. Someone reported on the boards today that they printed a few labels and then it stopped working again..this has happened to others as well.

Hi Kalvin!  Can you tell me whether there has been any recent change to the free listing allowance for stores registered on eBay.ca?  Specifically, I'm wondering if (for example, in my case), a Basic store still has 150 free listings per month available on eBay.ca (or cafr), plus an additional 150 listings free on eBay.com.

There's been some question recently on the boards about apparently free listings being charged for, and I'd appreciate clarification of the current status vis-à-vis free listings for .ca stores.  Thanks!

Hi pjcdn2005,

There's a Global issue affecting some sellers intermittently where an error message says "System unavailable. Please try again later!" Is this the one you're concerned with? If so, it's being looked into and hoping to have it fixed ASAP. If it's something entirely different, I'm not sure we've captured it, please drop me an email so I can try & replicate the issue.

Thanks,

One other issue I wanted to ask you about Kalvin: I'm not sure whether I'm just not remembering things properly from previous transactions, but I'll describe this anyway.

Twice recently when I've refunded a substantial amount to a buyer as a courtesy discount on postage after they have already paid, I noticed on my "Sold Items" list that those items were flagged as "unpaid".  I'm almost certain the status used to say "partially refunded" -- this is when you mouse over the half-stroked-out dollar sign.  Now, the first time I didn't notice this until 4 days after I'd made the refund, and I'm just hoping the buyer wasn't receiving payment reminders during that time.

I may not be describing this very clearly, but my main concern is that if I refund a buyer after they have paid in full, I should not be seeing any status line indicating "unpaid".

In both of the above situations I had to manually change the status to "paid in full", which of course meant that the refund was no longer reflected on the transaction record.  Am I dreaming, or didn't eBay previously show partial refunds properly as the item being paid in full, with "partially refunded" noted?  I'm not sure whether this is some sort of odd glitch, or a deliberate change perhaps?  How can I get around it and still correctly reflect a partial refund on my Sold Item page, and on the transaction record?  Thanks for your input!

I have another question (I've been saving them up!) Smiley Happy

I spent some time last week playing around with the new "Profile" page and getting mine set up the way I like it.  However, if I understand it correctly, there are supposed to be links or references to a member's reviews and guides, as well as Collections.  I've written a couple of guides, and started a Collection, but I don't see them showing up on my Profile.  Any reason why?

Yes, the wording isn't quite like that similar. I hope that asap means today 🙂  It seams that whenever there is a problem on the paypal.ca shipping site that the problem gets fixed in a months, not hours or days.  I realize that isn't controlled by you but I just wanted to make the comment.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi rose-dee,

I'm not aware of any changes to the Free Listings that come with Store Subscriptions - Help pages on both eBay.com & eBay.ca still quote the same numbers. The one factor to consider may be Seller Promotions, where one Sellers' free listings may be different from another if both weren't invited to participate.

Hi rose-dee,

Great question - I checked it out on eBay.com & it looks like the partial dollar sign is in fact there. I'd venture to say that you were likely on eBay.com (without Selling Manager view) and saw this. On eBay.ca, you wouldn't see that partial payment indicator.

I do understand about Seller Promotions perhaps differing from one seller to another.  So stores registered on .ca are still allowed the (effectively) double free listings -- i.e. in my situation (Basic store) 300 in total between .ca/cafr and .com?

If that's the case, does the .com allowance only get displayed if a seller actually lists something on .com?  I was sure that a few months ago the "allowance" text used to be displayed in my chart of available free listings.  It doesn't now.

Hi Rose-Dee,

We love you exploring our new features, however as you noted its not on ebay.ca yet. We hope to see this feature soon but I'm not sure exact date yet when these features will be available on ebay.ca profile pages.

Thanks,

Bryan

No, Kalvin, I was definitely on eBay.ca, no doubt whatsoever -- that's where I "live" -- and the partial dollar sign was definitely shown.  The problem was what came up when I moused over it -- "Unpaid".  I'm certain the partial dollar sign used to show a message saying "Partially Refunded".

In addition, when I went into the transaction record, I got a bizarre pop-up message saying something along the lines of "The total deducted can't be more than the item price".  This made no sense at all, since the refunded shipping amount was far below the total the buyer paid.  I'm sorry, I wish I'd taken a screen shot of these.  Maybe next time it occurs, can I contact you?

Well, since no one else seems to be arriving yet, I'll ask another question:

I noticed in the recent "Announcements" for February 12th that eBay is totally revamping the Seller Dashboard.  Does this mean on eBay.ca as well, and if so, when can we expect to see the changes (approximately)?  Thanks!

I'd be curious to quickly check it out now, actually. Mind giving me an item number in your My eBay right now so I can check it out? Also, is this is regular My eBay view or through Selling Manager?

Yes, we're making it available to CA sellers as well. Not entirely sure when it'll be available to all sellers on eBay.ca, but we did start introducing it last week. This is more of a Raphael question, so if you'd like to check back in a couple of weeks, he should be able to address that one for you 🙂

Thanks Kalvin - I hope there's time here to do this.  The item number was 171239841881.  When I just moused over the dollar sign icon, I see a message saying "You marked this item as paid; This item was partially paid on Feb. 18th" (my bold print).

Now, because I've already manually tried to fix this, you won't see the partial dollar sign icon as it was before I made the manual changes.  However, the current information really doesn't reflect the true situation, which was that the item + shipping was fully paid by the buyer on Feb. 18th and partially refunded by me.

By the way, the "partial dollar sign" did work in the past.  I'll see if I can quickly find the (much older) transaction item #.  If not, I guess I'll follow up next week.

Follow up:  I just tried to find the older transaction, but it was over 90 days ago, so has gone from my "Sold" list.

Ok, I see what you're saying. I'm not entirely sure about the 'Partial refund' indicator, but the half dollar sign is appearing on eBay.ca if you're viewing out of Selling Manager. 'Partial refund' vs 'Partial payment received' are also very synonymous - seems like situations where this wouldn't fit would be minimal.
