I recently sold a small item to a buyer in Greece (230256300925) who left a negative feedback citing high shipping cost. I wasn't happy about the negative since my shipping costs are upfront and in my mind reasonable, but that's life. This morning I checked the feedback that the customer has been leaving and it appears that he is leaving negative feedback on every purchase citing high shipping costs. He is now on my blocked bidder list and I have emailed so called customer support to point out that he appears to be doing nothing but leaving negs. Any suggestions on what else can be done?

I woke up and realized the customer has left some positive feedback, but has still managed to leave 79 negs since he became a member in early August.

Morning Pierre - I had stronger words than idiot for him, but I don't need to get mu mouth washed out with soap.

It will be interesting to see what sort of response I get, if any, from Trust & Safety.

And as an afterthought should Trust and Safety be amongst some of things that really should be renamed, ie Mistrust and Insecurity for Sellers, in the US Homeland Insecurity & Paranoia, etc

Well I got an answer from Trust and Safty and they say they can do nothing, which was expected. The somewhat puzzling thing is the statement that "Regrettably, I am unable to review a feedback for its particulars." To my simple old mind if some one has left 79 negative feedback in 3 weeks something is wrong somewhere with the system, and some review should be done somewhere.

Egads - another email from Trust and Safty saying "if the buyer shows malicious intent on the site and is
suspended in the future, all negative feedback left shall be removed."

Some one is actually reading and giving non automated responses

" something is wrong somewhere with the system, and some review should be done somewhere. "

I agree. However, T&S is staffed by folks who don't want to make waves if they can help it. Put in their 35 hours a week, collect a paycheque and go home!

Last week, T&S ended over 200 of my store listings priced under $1. They did the same to thousands of sellers. We all know the rules; eBay had indicated last Spring that GST store listings would not be relisted by eBay when they came for renewal from May onwards. However, they kept automatically relisting and collecting fees.

While I can understand eBay ending all under $1 listings (they received complaints from sellers who had ended their listings early last Spring), they forgot to follow their official policy and make those ended listing available in the "unsold listings" page. Ooooops!

Getting absolutely nowhere with them or senior management to correct their mistake. .

Just a comment as to when UPFRONT shipping charges are stated- and less than POSITIVE feedback is deserved.
We purchased FOUR paper certificates. (US$150+ each)
The seller listed US$7.50 for delivery by REGISTERED MAIL.
That's not a problem- and not excessive- REGISTERED Mail is expensive.

Here's the problem- the seller WOULD NOT COMBINE SHIPPING for FOUR certificates- and wanted US$30 to send FOUR pieces of paper in ONE envelope! (less than 50g total weight for shipping)

eBay would do nothing. Excessive shipping cost- NO (according to eBay)- and "the problem is between you and the seller".

So- I wanted the items, and the seller still wanted the US$30 even if picked up! I PAID the US$30 for shipping, and did receive ONE REGISTERED letter.
(I did pay for EACH AUCTION SEPARATELY though- and as such, I would have expected FOUR SEPARATE envelopes. I could have directed these to FOUR separate addresses, out of spite- and would have been 100% within my rights, as a buyer, to do so. FOUR separate auctions- four separate contracts!)

There are limits- even when shipping is clearly stated. and US$30 for one REGISTERED letter, sent from TORONTO, to TORONTO, crosses that line.

In this situation would anyone even consider leaving glowing POSITIVE feedback?

Nice guy. Negs for $1 and change. Sorry you ran into this guy.

I haven't had a neg but I've had a problem with a buyer from Greece too. He wanted fast, tracked shipping. From the US that means Express Mail. I paid $30.50 and charged him $32.

He dinged me hard on my DSR's and thought he could do it twice. He bought two items at the same time and they were shipped together. He gave me feedback in July and then in August probably thinking he could ding me twice. Thankfully the purchases were made together so they only counted once.

jakeeangel - Is it possible, just based on the behaviour of this buyer (feedback left at different times) to show FEEDBACK ABUSE?
Just a thought- a long shot- but why not use the POWER SELLER portal, and write a detailed complaint, regarding the purchase, shipment, and the length of time between feedbacks.
While it may get you nowhere- you may get lucky.

I would hope that some of the other sellers that received negs from this customer complain to Ebay. The negs will not be removed unless Ebay decides that the buyer is abusing the system. The buyer is till as of today giving out negs, surprisingly several to a repeat vendor who has mentioned in his reply to the Negs that the buyer left negs before payment. I do hope that he neglects to pay 3 people who go for the FVF credit - I think thats the magic number to get him invited off of Ebay.

I had one purchaser buy 40 items and only paid for 18. Half hour after items were delivered, he filed for PayPal reversal claiming "non-receipt" and proceeded to give me 40 NEGATIVES! I got to keep my money, he got one strike for the 22 unpaid items but the negatives stayed. Ebay claimed there was no proof it was "malicious" or that purchases were made with the intent of leaving negative feedback. They said that removal would constitute "censorship" which was illegal (so then how can they prevent us from leaving negatives?) Purchaser didn't even get a slap on the wrist for filling fraudulent PayPal claim and I lost my Power Seller status because the 40 negs put me under 98% satisfaction rate. Had to get 2,000 positives to balance it out. How is that for "fair game"?

Well the Gods of Ebay havesmiledon me, and my recent negative has been removed and the giver of the negative suspended by EBay using a new bidder 90 day clause- I'm sue some of the resident experts can tell us exactly whereon the volumes of regulations thatcan be found. I guess even Ebay finds over 50 negs in a few eeks from a newbie abit unsettling - and I know several other receivers of negs from the clown in Greece complained to Ebay.

Now if they could just stop fooling around with Eastern Ontario stamp dealers.
