When your item sells, eBay charges you a Final Value Fee on the purchase price (shipping excluded). If the sale fails with an unpaid case being closed, then that Final Value Fee is canceled with a credit.
eg. if the FVF is $50, then the credit is $50 -- you then get the opportunity to sell the item to the next highest bidder or you can start a fresh auction for the item.
