Fullfilment by Amazon

I run into this service when going to check out new Amazon checkout system they announced today.

Don't know how long this has been around but it seems fairly good for sending larger items:

Especially for Canadian sellers, because the Amazon fullfilment and shipping charges seem quite fair ($0.75/unit + $4.75 per parcel 2 day + $0.45/lb). Beats CanadaPost Small Packet.

Anybody using this service? Can share the experience?

Those numbers I quoted are standard service, whatever that means. 2-day service is little extra.

The fulfillment rates outlined in the link apply for USA, not Canada .

Pierre, I was talking about "Basic Fullfilment" service not "Amazon.com fulfillment":

Basic Fulfillment rates apply to requests that are submitted by seller directly and cover transportation and handling only.

you see Amazon has this collective power to negotiate for the best rate in the industry.

ebay.ca with their thousands of sellers can only manage to get pennies of discount from canada post 😞

From the looks of it, those shipping rates apply to stock amazon ships for you. You still have to ship the items to them and besides all the other fees, you have to pay for the amount of space you use in their warehouse.

I guess nobody uses this yet in Canada. I wonder if they accept Canadian customers.

Yes, but you ship the whole inventory to them at once, while their rates are per order. Sending 60lb box to US costs some $70 with $1000 coverage. If you have there 50x 1lb products, it will only cost $1.40 to ship to them, $0.75 their handling and $4.75 + $0.55 their shipping (=$7.45 total per single unit order). Shipping 2lb (1lb product + packaging) via Small Packet USA with CanadaPost will cost $13.25 + packing supplies. The savings on full filing 50 orders is $290 plus you do not have to buy sjhipping supplies, pack or go to post office everyday.

That is my understanding. Maybe I am missing something but if they allow Canadians, it's sweet service.

IMO storage fees are friendly considering you pay only the monthly average volume you occupy. If you rented small U-Haul self-storage, you would pay approx $85/month (I don't know exact price). Amazon charges $0.45/cubic feet, so 5x6' storage room filled completely up to 6ft high (180cubic feet) would be $81/m. Seems fair.

Advantages:

. orders ship from US - no customs delays
. much friendlier shipping rates than CanadaPost
. media rates are extremely friendly

Canada is hardly a Market . I doubt will come to canada If i were amazon i sure wouldnt offer the service here . 80% less pop than usa bah sound like a money loseing venture .
