Hi everyone,
This time I would like to share my great experience purchasing a GSP item as more complain here about it.
I was hesitate before, but because the price of the item is good for me and the shipping is so cheap $10.42 for 10.5 kg weight of it (box 35 X 25 X 15 cm), I go a head with it.
Unfortunately when I placed my order for the 1st time, I forgot to change my address as I just moved to different apartment, so I contacted the seller and she canceled my purchase because she cannot change the address for me. My payment to her was refunded, but the shipping cost and import charge was not.
I waited couple days in hope the shipping cost and import charge would be refunded automatically, but it was not. Was advised on weekly board forum to call CS because the refund from pitney bowes supposed to be automatically at the same day.
So I called ebay CS, not really sweat to explain, and the CS promised the shipping cost and import fee will be refunded within 32 hours and it was true.
At the same time when the cancellation happened I place my second order for the same item. It was only a week the item arrived.
I'm happy with the purchase. GSP is good for product I bought.
Item price is $42.78
Import fee is $8.92
Shipping is $10.42 which is so reasonable for 10.5 kg.
The shipping forwarder is from mississauga.

Thanks for passing that along, Asiahhijab!
Your experience pretty well bears out what some of us have been saying, which is that while the GSP isn't great for items that can be sent by USPS's First Class Mail International service (the equivalent of small packet or light packet air), it can work quite well for heavier or even higher-priced items.
Just out of curiosity, what forwarding company handled the item in Canada?

$10.42 for 10.5 Kg is INCREDIBLY GOOD!
Once ebay gets the kinks hammered out of the GSP, I think it's going to be a wonderful tool for sellers.

I've had a positive experience with the GSP as well................. or not really positive . Just not negative............ Neutral.
The item took longer to arrive than all the rest I bought at the same time, but since I don't mind waiting that's not a problem for me.
For those who are in a hurry............ Not so Good though.
That's ONE transaction I completed via the GSP.
By comparison I've walked away from many many potential purchases because they were so blatantly and clearly and without a doubt much more costly than otherwise.
The GSP is a tool for sellers who don't ship internationally.
For these sellers the choice is to sign onto the GSP and perhaps sell an item or two they wouldn't sell otherwise, but they can take it or leave it.
So, for these sellers it works.
For their buyers................. not so much.

I bought this product on regular basis actualy.
Before the postage rate of USPS increased, I used to pay $17-$19 on shipping for 1/5 of what I bought now (around 2 kg).
After the postage increased seller charge me $23 for the same amount (2 kg).
So with GSP, even I have to pay import fee,it was real saving for me

asian.............. $10.42 for shipping a 10.5 kg item is insanely low.
The only thing I can think of is that a flat rate box was used, but even so it that to be shipped to the hub and then to you.
I have never come across something even remotely close to that price even when shipping only once directly to me and not twice to the hub then to me as the GSP does.
How could that amount cover the actual cost?
The GSP is not some magical formula for insanely reduced cost of shipping................ far from it.
Could another seller possibly duplicate that or even come close?
The item that worked for me was also very heavy.......... but about 2 kg., and shipping was $20.
That struck me as realistic with or without the GSP.
The item cost a few dollars and is actually very rare so it was a good buy for $23 in total.
BUT shipping @ $10.42 for 10.5 kg.??????

Nor is it touted as such by P-B or eBay.
However, it's great when it works out that way, isn't it?
Just as it's great when a potentially taxable purchase from outside of Canada doesn't get dinged taxes by CBSA, right?

Sure, but the point is that it doesn't add up.
How or why could this 10.5 kg item be shipped Internationally for under $11?
That's unheard of.

The seller whom I bought from has free shipping within USA.
What I noticed is all her items which listed with GSP has same shipping cost to my postal code, $10.42, eventhough they all in different weight and dimension, the import fee are vary according of the price of the item.
It give me a thought that Pitney Bowes charge flat rate for shipping no matter how heavy of the item is.
That's why when I made this purchase I choose the most quantity from the same items she listed.

I thought the seller must be absorbing some of it.
That makes a little more sense.................
Still............... I thought the GSP used tracking for all shipments............... what happens in case an item doesn't arrive?
Still doesn't add up.................... but a little closer than before.

Oh yes, they were trackable.
The seller using UPS to sent the items to somewhere called airport exchange blvd Kentucky, then PBIS sent to me from mississauga using expedited parcel.
I live in downtown Toronto, so it just took a day for the item to reach me from Mississauga.
I placed my order July 8th and got it July 16th. Pretty fast, I didn't even think to track it.

My package was shipped via Expedited Parcel by Canada Post.
So, the seller shipped to P-B, and they must have loaded up a truck with packages and drove over the border to Canada.
Then, they must have printed the labels and dropped the packages at the CPO for delivery.
The actual cost for shipping my 2kg package sounds about right, or even a little low because the seller had to ship to P-B first.
Was your shipped by CPO as well?
I'm thinking that would explain the low shipping cost.
If the P-B truck drove all the packages to TO and then shipped from there, then it would made sense since you live in the same city.
Expedited shipping within the same city is very reasonable, and it may be possible to ship a 10+kg package for under $11.
Thing is, how often can that be duplicated?
