I received a Notice of an Instant Payment for an Auction that doesn't end for another 2 days! The amount was the starting bid amount and there is no shipping and handling included. The Item is still listed. No bids. Same Item number.
How is this possible? How did they get my email address to send payment? How could Paypal accept payment for this item that is still listed?
Am I missing something!:(

Have you checked to see if the money is actually in your PayPal account. It might be a scam email.

The money and the person's name is there in my Paypal account! Nothing on my ebay page except for the active listing.

I got an answer to my dilemma by posting the question on .com. Thanks.
It seems that you can pay for a listed item by clicking the Paypal link on an auction. Payment doesn't cancel the listing. Paypal warns you but doesn't stop you from sending the money.
Lucky for this guy that I read my email as well as ebay messages.

I have just spent the last half hour trying to get rid of this "button". I don't seem to know how 😞
I looked in my Preferences....not listed there.
I hope that I don't have to revise every auction page individually!

Whoscloset....you confirmed my worst fear on this matter. I just returned from the Paypal site and couldn't change it.
Why doesn't Paypal put a block on this link if it found a bug in it?:(
