I ran into a Beswick Hare that I was going to buy to flip on eBay, But I remembered an article I read about Beswick having some of its items copied. The hare I was going to buy didnt' seem like the right color and the makers marks look wrong, the original was raised letters I think ....
Hence......( great word hence ) I thought I would ask the many experts on eBay about this piece
Thanks Everyone !!

I would ask about it on the Pottery, Glass & Porcelain Board on .com. They might be able to give you more info.

Markings are usual part of the mold. in the making of a figure such as this Beswick hare....
In order to make a fake... a Beswick hare would be used to make a mold... which then would be used to make fakes..... and the clarity of the item made from this mold would be in question.....
The markings on OP's hare are the same as those on the hare's for sale on eBay...
Op's item should have its feet cleaned.... and then shown in the listing...
Let the potential buyers make the decision if it is "real"

Let the potential buyers make the decision if it is "real"
A seller has to know if something is real before they sell it. If it isn't real, it would be illegal to sell since it does have the Beswick markings on it. If it just looked like a Beswick without any sort of identifying marks, it could be sold but the name brand could not be mentioned in the listing or title.

OP's hare is marked exactly the same as those on eBay already.
Same size... most likely... same coloring... most likely.
and exactly the same marking.
Conclusion... Seller makes a choice and potential buyers make a decision...

After having seen several Beswick hares n the internet....
The following appear to be factors to examine carefully.
(1) The dark "black" on the ends, or lower extremities of the feet, both front and back
(2) The intensity of hair color on the hare.....This could be due to how a photograph was taken..... Some hares have a quite dark, and intense color on the hair coat.
(3) Some of the hares appear to be very "glossy... especially those with that dark colored hair... again lighting in relation to the photograph may be a factor here.
Did Beswick figure have a relatively Matte finish... and not too glossy and with lots of "shine" and reflection?
My understanding of Beswick is that they were never... "Too glossy"
I see them quite often at auction sales...
