Hi everyone: I took advantage of the promos and did a lot of listings this weekend.
I now have a terrible mess of duplicate listings. I don't know how they got there, I did my listing as I always do, but there are whole blocks of duplicates and some single ones. It's very hard for me to find them by just scrolling through my listings and trying to remember. Some are easy to catch because I list in alphabetical order, so when the order is suddenly broken, I know there is a problem, but I cannot be sure I have found them all.
Does anyone know how I can sort or filter out these duplicates so I can remove them.
I have called ebay support to report the problem, but they were not much help as to how to simplify this for me. They are going to investigate and see if they can find how it happened and then tell me how to avoid doing this again. I don't know what I can do differently. My listing activity does not show duplicates, and my items for sale does not show duplicates, but if I go to my items listed on Ebay I find duplicates all over the place.
It's a mess, but for now I'm just trying to find a way to fix it. Not sure how it will work if someone buys one of the items. Will the other one stay there. The item numbers are the same. so if someone purchases will both of the same item number disappear? I'm lost, this has never happened before.
Sorry for rambling, Bottom line, is there a way for me to filter duplicates?

"Does anyone know how I can sort or filter out these duplicates so I can remove them."
KISS
Using Selling Manager - Active Listing - I sort them all alphabetically using the sort function (click on "title") on top of the description column.
Then, slowly going down the pages you can easily identify duplicate or triplicate.
Sounds simple but it works for me

For now, I just wend through all my listings again, and the duplicates are gone. Waiting for the email from eBay that they removed them. Hopefully all is sorted out. I'd really like to know what happened, but I have a feeling I will never find out. All the duplicates had the same item number. That seems really strange to me, but I'm totally confused this morning.
Doh!

Go install Selling Manager now. It is free. And much better than "my eBay"
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/sellingmanager.html
If you list on both eBay.ca and eBay.com you need to get it (it is still free) on both sites

"All the duplicates had the same item number. "
That is not possible. I suspect a bug. Duplicate listings have different listing numbers. That is what creates the problem.

I will check it out, but I'm not crazy about changing the way I do things, and most of all transferring all my current listings. I'll look though and do some reading and see what would be involved. I know I don't want to have this problem again.
I've noticed other things the last few days that are a bit wonky, like my selling reminders not updating, and I have to refresh the page. Then the next time I come on they are messed up again, and tell me I have items to ship, that have already been shipped, and the Sold Items page seems to need refreshing, one time the recently sold item is there, the next time it is not, until I refresh the page and then it comes back.
I don't know if the problem is on my end, or eBays but something has changed. Anyway, I'm stressing right now, so I am going to go and work in the garden for awhile.

That's what I thought too, which is what has been driving me crazy. They were definitely the same item number, and the same date and exact same time of listing. Most of the time it was a whole page (50 listings in my case) that had been duplicated, but as I looked closer I found some single duplicates mixed in.
Anyway, whatever the problem was, it seems to have been looked after.
I asked the rep. at eBay to keep me informed and let me know what happened, but I'm not too confident that I will hear back from them.

I use Turbo Lister and it has some good ways of identifying and preventing duplicate listings.
