TRS doesn't earn you anything from either Canada Post or Paypal, but both offer discounts to small businesses.
Canada Post's Venture One card can be obtained online or at any Post OFFICE. I don't think they are available at postal outlets. These give you 5% off various services and occasionally they will send you some nice freebie. You tell the counter clerk your number when you are buying labels to get the discount.
Paypal is better. When you print your shipping labels you automatically get a 5% to 18% discount from PO counter prices on some services. PP also has the advantage of keeping all your shipping information in one place and allowing you to pay from your PP balance.
New sellers also get these discounts, but more to the point for them, they can use Held funds to pay for shipping their packages, even though the rest of their customers' payments won't be available for weeks.
And of course some eBay stamp dealers sell mint discount postage. You can get discounts of 20% or better depending on what you are buying. Just make sure the face values are high enough that there will still be room on the package for the address. And don't accept 'no gum' stamps. They have already been used, even if they are not postmarked, and it is illegal to use them, never mind unethical.
