How do I know when payment is confirmed so that I can shift?

My selling reminders say I'm waiting on payment.  There's an hour glass in the payment column.  When I hover over the hourglass, it says that paypal is processing payment.  Do I ship now or wait?

Hi again , you are still logged into ebay.ca but just in case you return.. check the details of your payment received in Paypal account.

2 reasons for pending..buyer paid with an echeck. For US clearing in approx 4 business days. Shipping is after clearing to your balance.

Ebay hold on new sellers..

Do not ship until the hourglass is replaced by a dollar sign. That will mean the buyer`s e-cheque has cleared and is with Paypal..

Because you are a new seller, PP will hold the money for up to 21 more days against your good performance.

Ship within 7 days and leave positive feedback for your buyer to encourage him to do the same for you.

These early sales are often confusing and nerve-wracking. It does get better.
