I may be down for 24-48 hours

Tomorrow I am moving. My system will be down probably tonight at midnight and hopefully will be up tomorrow evening but like anything else problems can happen.

While I am looking for a small warehouse/retail venue, my office is still out of my house.

My new office is a vary large and bright 3rd floor loft (about 1,300 sq ft) in a 2-year old house. The good side is it is bright, new and large. The bad side is that it is 3 floors up from the ground floor.

Anyway if you dont see me posting for 24+ hours you now know why!

1,300 square feet? Why would you need a small warehouse. That's bigger than my house!

OK I am back up and running and problems did hit so I am on much later than I had hoped.

We shut down everythng Wednesday for the move. Wednesday evening we couldnt get the ShopLine server working. Thursday we discovered the main hard drive had problems.

My son the techie and business partner, managed to work on the hard drive, install it in our multi-media server and download all the Shopline data by Friday morning.

Then he struggled with networking problems as our office is 4 floors up from the hub and some of the lines running through the walls that we assumed were installed correctly werent (the ones he did worked great). Unfortunately the line that goes to my computer wasnt working and he had to run lines outside of the walls up the stairs to get me online.

I must tell you that the scariest part is getting several days of emails all at once.

I decided to answer 3 key ones last night and the multitude of others this morning after a couple of cups of very strong coffee.

Great thing about eBay is being shut down for a few days and still making money in eBay sales and getting payment for everything sold without having to send a single invoice or communicatng with a single buyer.

Speaking of hardrive problems, my kid's went. They lost everything. My fault since i didn't back up for them!

Remember, backup!

We did a back up a month ago however we were able to fix the hard drive so that we could download everything to a new hard drive.

Most of the time you can take the HD to a disk recovery shop and they can get most if not all of the info off the HD.

The problem is when the hard drive flings its little pivot points back into the disk and the disk shatters into a million pieces (the HD spins at 150 mph), then there is nothing left to recover.
