International Sales

Hello everyone: I just went to post my first listing and got a message that I had to sign the International Selling Agreement before I could sell Internationally.

That lead me to reading some more and if I understand correctly, I can't sell internationally until I have a feedback score of 10. I'm not sure if signing the Sellers Agreement supersedes that rule or not. I found and read the Sellers Agreement, and basically it sounds like I'd be signing up for ebay or Paypal to debit my account whenever they felt like it. I hate lawyer talk, but that's what it sounds like to me. Here is a link if anyone is interested.

Anyway, to get to the point: I'm not so worried about worldwide shipping right now as the postage rates are so high, I doubt that there would be many sales anyway, however, I really  do need to be able to ship to the States.

If I register and list on Ebay.com will I be able to ship to the States NOW and not have to wait for my feedback to get to 10? Will I still have to sign this agreement?

Hope someone can help with this, I was so looking forward to getting started today

Once registered as a seller on eBay, you can sell on either eBay.com or eBay.ca

You do NOT need to list on eBay.com to have your listing shown on eBay.com.  At first, it would be easier to list on eBay.ca as you can select relevant shipping methods.  You need to select shipping to Canada and USA and offer a shipping charge relevant to the American marketplace.

Until you have much more selling experience on eBay, do not worry about the overseas market (eBay refers to it as "international")

Good Luck.

Thanks Pierrelebel: The thing is I'm using Turbo Lister. I took out the Worldwide shipping option and just kept Canada and USA, but I still get this message about "not being able to sell internationally until I have signed the agreement" and also upon further research I found a rule that said I need to have a feedback score of 10.

Is selling to the States considered International if I am signed up on eBay.ca? If so would signing up on eBay.com get me past that so I could at least sell to Canada AND USA

Thanks for mentioning the ability to select the relevant Postage by listing on .ca. I hadn't thought of that and will have to keep it in mind if I do end up having to list on .com. I'll have to calculate the postage myself and add it to all my listings. 😞

"The thing is I'm using Turbo Lister"

Why bother?  Turbo Lister is basically designed for bulk listing.

To list an item at the time it is much easier and less confusing to use SYI3 (Sell link on top of this and every page on page)

As stated earlier, list on eBay.ca.  Offer to ship to Canada and the USA.

pierre: I like the idea of Turbo Lister because I can make up my listings ahead of time at my leisure and then choose from a long list when I want to upload them for sale.

That being said, Turbo Lister is giving me all sorts of issues right now, so I may have to list one item at a time. I want to have at least 15 a week. I'll have a look at the SY13, but it seems like it will be a very time consuming process and not as flexible as I would like. We'll see

I have over 100,000 transactions on eBay in 14 years.  I did not use Turbo Lister.  I used SYI3.

You can use SYI3 and use the scheduling feature (up to 3 weeks). While there is a charge of $0.10 per listing, you do not have to pay it if you delete the scheduling feature at time of listing. 🙂

I'm not sure if you could bypass the agreement and the 10 feedback,  but the fastest way for you to find out is to try doing a listing on .com using the SYI form.  If that works, then you can either continue doing that or download turbolister on .com.

You don't need to register on .com to list there as you are already registered here which means you are registered on all ebay sites.

If you do use .com and you are using Canada Post to ship, you will have to use flat rate shipping. For shipping to the U.S. choose one of "shipping outside of the U.S. options" and for shipping to Canada you can use one of the "international shipping options."
