Is ebay.ca only seen by Canadians again?

Here we go again. All Canadian sales for more than a week when most of my business is usually US.  Checked in on another computer in .com and I am not there AGAIN!  I get the manipulation but I pay my fees to be seen worldwide!

I have no problem finding your items on .com

Re: Is ebay.ca only seen by Canadians again?

I tried finding a few of your products on eBay.com using search (Best Match) - no problem

However, and this has been mentioned before, your shipping charges to the USA are not set up properly.  For example:

US $7.95
US $4.00
United States
Canada Post International Parcel - Surface

Estimated Delivery within 5-14 business days
Seller ships within 1 day after receiving cleared payment
US $5.50
US $4.00
United States
Canada Post Light Packet USA

Estimated Delivery within 6-11 business days
Seller ships within 1 day after receiving cleared payment

When shipping to the USA, you should use the Canada Post Light Packet USA only (not international).

Overseas destinations should be entered separately using whatever method you want (international parcel surface is NOT recommended).

I do not know if the shipping confusion has any direct effect on your sales.

Re: Is ebay.ca only seen by Canadians again?

Thanks Pierre. i will check it. I always list shipping for US separately from other countries so there is a glitch somewhere if US is coming up with the international.  This has only been since I started relisting after the holidays. Same thing last time I let them run out. somehow my settings change while sitting dormant.  I can see my listings on .com today.  Funny how that happens 😉

OK so I changed it and it still comes up with the 2 different prices for light packet for US  Now what?

Re: Is ebay.ca only seen by Canadians again?

For example, when I look at 291358805369 from eBay.com, I only see one shipping option to the USA:

US $5.50
United States
Canada Post Light Packet USA

and that is the way it should be as far as USA is concerned.

However, I do not find rates for some overseas destinations.

Also, when I look at it using my Canadian address, I see several options: lettermail, expedited and pick up.

Frankly I feel you make it too complicated for yourself to offer three options.  Lettermail (low cost) should do it.  If you absolutely insist in offering pick-up, you can always indicate it in your description.  However, considering the low value of your items, I really do not think it is worth your while.

Re: Is ebay.ca only seen by Canadians again?

Having the international price showing for U.S. buyers in the shipping tab shouldn't be a problem and it happen quite often because of the way the shipping calculator is set up. Usually it just means that the seller has set up a Canada price, a U.S. price and then set up one worldwide shipping method. If you use specific services such as light packet, ebay assumes that worldwide includes the U.S.

This shouldn't affect your visibility but you should make sure the U.S. price is first. For example, on item 251792865566 you have the international price listed first so a U.S. buyer will only see that higher price until they click on the shipping tab.

As I said, that is usually what causes it but because not all of your international shipping costs are not showing, you must not be using the worldwide option when putting in a shipping price but instead checking off the separate continents. Do you perhaps have North American checked off along with Europe, Australia etc?  Normally, if a seller checks off the different continents/countries rather than using 'worldwide' both costs won't show in the shipping tab but a side effect of that is that not all the countries will show a shipping cost.

If you are using one U.S. and one 'worldwide' cost, you can use the same generic term such as int'l standard and only one cost will show for the U.S. in the shipping tab but as I said, it shouldn't really matter as long as you list the U.S. cost first.

It's difficult for me to explain this.....I hope that what I wrote makes some sense. 🙂

Re: Is ebay.ca only seen by Canadians again?

No I revised the shipping and changed the US shipping from small packets-air to light packet but it is still giving both the US and international when you check the shipping rates, even though I just ask for US

I have US as a separate shipping option and for worldwide I have checked off selected countries, not North america. Its not making any sense. It used to work just fine
