Here is an unplanned question!
A few minutes ago, trying to list an item (fixed price, multiple quantity) on eBay.fr, the system refused to accept my listing until I change my registration to "professional" seller (instead of individual).
Why is that?
It was only one listing.
And then they changed the listing fee from €0.00 to € 0.30 !!!

Hello, I have a question about the search engine and where it looks for the search words.
This might sound like a similar question to the one I wrote you about it but it is actually a different issue.
If I search for NHL coasters, why does search only look for those words in the title even though the items are in the category Sports Mem - NHL hockey? But if I search for Canada Stamps, listings come up that do not have either of those two words in the title but they are in the stamps - Canada category. Does search only take the category into account in some cases? In both of those searches I am not searching in a specific category.
Does search look for the search words in the item specifics?
the description?
If it does look in those two areas, it doesn't seem to do so consistently.

Sorry, the item number is 231560164634.
I've never excluded New Zealand but previously noticed that it was only in my drop-down Shipping Calculator on ebay.com listings. Now it appears as an option on ebay.ca but without an associated cost. It might be some weird Canada Post thing, like perhaps they used to be considered part of Australia's realm (for the purposes of shipping) but has since broken into their own postal zone?
Thanks Maureen. I took a look and can't tell off the bat why this is happening. Let me take this offline and I'll get back to you.

My question is about shipping to New Zealand. Why doesn't it compute as part of Calculated shipping the way it is supposed to?
This item will ship to New Zealand, but the seller has not specified shipping options. Contact the seller- opens in a new window or tab and request a shipping method to your location.
Thanks,
Maureen
I believe this is because of the way you set up your shipping options. You are selecting international destinations by the custom shipping locations check boxes and New Zealand is not one of the countries you select.. You use Exclude shipping countries to block some countries. Then most likely you use the option to contact seller for buyer costs for countries not blocked and not having shipping costs specified.
What you need to do is set up International shipping with World Wide selected and calculated shipping. This will offer calculated shipping to all countries that are not blocked.
You have to be careful with the Canada Post service you use because some are not available for all countries. Fox example, XpressPost is only for some countries and International Parcel for countries not serviced by Xpresspost. So you need two shipping options set worldwide, one for XpressPost and one for International Parcel Air.
In my opinion, using the check boxes under Custom Locations is obsolete. You need it for USA for specific USA options and then use Worldwide for the other countries.
Ah, yes. That might be it. I left some listings defaulted to Ships 'Worldwide' when, in fact, there is a long list of places I don't actively ship to. Sorry, I replied elsewhere before seeing this. I'll take a closer look at that but, from the top of my head, I'm certain New Zealand prices and services are nearly identical to that of Canada Post for Australia unlike, say, the Dominican Republic or Cuba.

Hi Raphael, I have to ask: any update on the "US cart disconnect" problem?
Is it even being discussed by anybody at eBay anymore?

Raphael, I have contacted eBay already and got up to Trust and Safety Department - you can can see their letter of June 8-th in my messages.
But I am asking here to clarify how to deal with the message "buyer marked this item as payment sent on 2015 - .. .."
Thank you.
I apologize, I should have explained myself more clearly. The buyer marking the payment as sent means nothing to eBay until you also mark that payment as received (see in My eBay, in your Sold Items, there is a More Actions link on that item with an option to "Mark payment as received").
How to deal with this? You can treat this as if the buyer didn't pay at all. Please see the eBay Help Page I gave you the link to in my last reply. I hope this helps! 🙂 Please let me know if you'd like more assistance.

eBay.fr has different rules. Multi-variations listings are only available to business (professional) sellers. It's required to have that specific registration in place, which comes with a different price card.

Hi rose-dee,
Nothing new there, as we don't anticipate there will be for a long time. But this doesn't mean it's forgotten, or disregarded. My numerous posts on this subject in past weekly sessions have a lot of explanations on why that is.

Hi pjcdn2005,
You havent heard from me in a while, the team pulled me out of my cave to answer your question 🙂
We can't get into the back-end magic of how the search engine works but you are seeing it for yourself in action. The search engine does not follow a single rule, meaning if you search for one keyword that belongs to a single category it wont behave the same way in another. In Canada we have pools of inventory coming from different countries and when Canadians search for inventory we try to show them the most relevant items based on their intent. If the query has a partial word of a category it might put more weight into our category that matches that might explain the "Canada stamps" example.
