I list on .com using latest version of TL. Recently noticed the expected delivery dates when checking my items on .com are not correct.
For instance: item no. 180736186078, I use economy shipping from outside US which is 13-22 days and it shows Nov. 2 - 16. For all other countries (not Canada) I use Expedited International Shipping which should be 13 - 22 days and on .com it shows 18-27 days. I have a 2 day handling time.
For Canada I use Standard Int. Shipping when listing on .com.
What on earth am I doing wrong? This is driving me nuts, I can't figure it out!

I did a test listing on ebay.com and all generic options (Std, Expedited, Economy) add 18-27 days and for domestic too instead of 5 to 10 days.
Looks like a bug. I used the online Sell Your Item form, not TL. So it is not a TL bug.
I sent an email to Vincenzo so hopefully he is available to check into this.

Thanks pocomo, I've spent all day checking and found the same problem with all the options too. My next step was to contact Vincent so hopefully you will hear back from him. Please keep me informed. Thanks!

BTW, I am listing auctions so don't know if the problem is happening with BIN listings.
10-11-2011 02:26 PM
I did the test with an auction.
10-11-2011 02:43 PM
I did a test listing with BIN.
Different times.
I got the correct times for domestic and I got 11-20 days for std, Expedited and Economy from outside USA. I do not know what to expect fro the three different services. I would think it would be different. I cannot find in eBay help what the Estimated times are supposed to be.
???
I will try another test auction. Got the same results as before with auction 21-30 business days.
Strange

pocomo, its under sellerinformation/shipping/chooseservice on eBay.com Scroll down to bottom of the list. Shows as:
Economy Shipping from Outside US is 11-20 business days
Standard Shipping from Outside US is 5-10 business days
Expedited Shipping from Outside US is 1-4 business days
But its really confusing since you can only use the above shipping services when listing on .com under Domestic Shipping. Under International Shipping you only get a choice of Standard, Economy and Expedited Int'l Shipping. (for Canadians listing on .com on TL).

I cannot find in eBay help what the Estimated times are supposed to be.
You can't find the times because I'm fairly sure that there isn't supposed to be a delivery time for international items on .com or on .ca. I believe they said that it may be coming but it has never been announced.
I think it's a glitch.
If you look at the OP's listing that she mentions on .com, you'll see delivery times for Canada and other international locations. If you look at that same listing on .ca, there is no estimated delivery time for the U.S. or other international locations.
10-11-2011 06:39 PM
pj, that is what I remember that no estimated time showed on eBay.com for the International generic shipping options for Standard, Economy and Expedited shipping. I remembered that it showed the"shipping varies for International Destinations. But I only just started listing on ebay.com directly so I thought I missed it.
msmaggie, I know the Domestic shipping has Estimated times for the Generic options. So I was also careful to choose Standard from Outside (5 to 10 business days) plus a three day handling time to get a reasonable shipping time since I use Light Packet USA and Small Parcel USA Air.
I checked my email and no reply from Vincenzo.

I have been in contact with Vincenzo by email regarding this issue of long estimated delivery times showing in listing.
He understands the issue now and is checking with the US shipping team to see what can be done.
For sellers in Canada listing on eBay.com, your listing now show an estimated delivery time of 11 to 20 business days + your handling time days for International options when you use the generic Standard Int'l Shipping, Economy Int'l Shipping and Expedited Int'l shipping.
Prior to this, listings showed a message "Varies for items shipped from an international location" with no specific days mentioned.
Please note that the Domestic US shipping has the same three options in name but have different estimated times so you can tailor your time shown. This was already in effect and has not changed.
Why is this important? If you list on eBay.com from Canada, USA sellers will see a reasonable shipping time estimate. A Canadian or any other country buyer outside the USA shopping on eBay.com will see 14 to 23 business days as the estimated delivery time assuming you have a handling time of 3 business days. This is seen at the top on the first page beside the price and in the Shipping and Payments tab.
I believe this will reduce sales from Canada and International because potential buyers will be scared off by the extremely long estimated times.
Despite Canada Post issues with slower shipping since the strike, shipping within Canada is not 14 to 23 days. Nor is it that long worldwide for Light Packet International or Small Packet International Air.
Please note this affects Canadian sellers listing on eBay.com. The issue can only be viewed if you look at your listings on eBay.com the way a Canadian or International buyer will see it.
eBay recently made this change. This specific implementation of the International options estimated time change was announced in the link.

A specific note to Pierre. If you go and check your listing 390357451683, it shows an incredible 17 to 26 business days for your worldwide option.
I would think that you would have to say that is not acceptable. click on any country (Germany, for example) in the drop down list and you get 17-26 business days.
I assume that you use Letter-post International and mailing the item to say Germany would take 5 days, no?
I do not know why it shows this way because you listed this from .com, correct?
I checked another listing of yours 390284775109 with Germany as the country in the shipping section and it shows 12 -21 days.
Why one shows 17-26 business days and the other 12-21, I do not know.
All I do know is that if buyers are seeing these times, International sales will drop.

WOW - When viewed on eBay.com (from Canada) for shipment to Canada, eBay shows:
Canada Standard Int'l Shipping Between 17-26 business days
If I look at it on eBay.com for shipment to the UK, eBay shows:
United Kingdom Standard Int'l Shipping Between 17-26 business days
However, if I look at eBay.uk for shipment to the UK, eBay shows;
United Kingdom Standard Int'l Postage Varies for items sent from an international location
Also, if I look at eBay.de for shipment to Germany, eBay shows:
Deutschland Standard Int'l Versand Bei Artikeln, die aus dem Ausland verschickt werden, kann der voraussichtliche Liefertermin nicht genau angegeben werden.
Am I happy about it? NO. 😞

The earlier results were for an auction listing listed yesterday on eBay.com
When I look at a fixed price listing, listed a while back, on eBay.con shipping to the UK (from a UK address), I get:
United Kingdom Standard Int'l Shipping Between 12-21 business days
10-19-2011 07:31 PM
I should add that ALL listings on eBay.com use the same shipping methods:
for USA "Standard Shipping from Outside the USA (5 to 10 business days)
for the rest of the world "Standard International Shipping"
When I checked the same fixed price listing for shipment to the USA, eBay states:
United States Standard Shipping from outside US Between Thu. Oct. 27 and Thu. Nov. 3
Somehow, it appears eBay gives different results based on
- auction vs fixed price
- or date when listed (they may have changed some code or standards in the meantime)

My FP listings and auctions listings have different est times too even though the services and handling time are the same.
FP to the U.S. - Oct 27-Nov 3
Auction to the U.S. Nov 2-9
FP international - 12-21days
Auction international -18-27 days
Some of those times are just brutal.
10-19-2011 09:43 PM
I did notice that auctions had longer times way back when this thread was started but I forgot about it.
I think this issue will impact sales so I hope eBay simply reverses the change until a better way is found to implement the estimated days for International shipping options.
10-19-2011 09:51 PM
Poco did you read my email? I still find it hard to believe that they actually meant to put in those 12-21 day delivery times.
10-20-2011 02:22 AM
I was away from the computer this evening and just came back. I answered your email.
10-20-2011 01:01 PM
It seems that the Estimated times for International shipping on .com is back to Shipping varies from an Int'l location. No more 11 to 20 business days.
I checked my listings and the two I listed here for Pierre.
All seems okay.
Spot check your own to verify that the issue is gone.
I also got an email back from Vincenzo saying that they were going to go back to the varies message and that it should show soon. It seems like this is fixed. 🙂
10-20-2011 01:17 PM
'All seems okay."
Unfortunately not.
I checked two of my listings on eBay.com from a US address. One is fixed price and one is auction. Both were listed in the last few days on eBay.com
370551950797 auction
United States Standard Shipping from outside US Between Mon. Oct. 31 and Mon. Nov. 7
370552304778 Fixed price
United States Standard Shipping from outside US Between Fri. Oct. 28 and Fri. Nov. 4
If one could explain the logic (the term is unknown to eBay) why it takes three days longer for an envelope containing an item purchased at auction, I would love to know.
