Lost ? returned parcel

I like to know if a ebay seller , who is using GSP, is putting his (return) address on
the parcel or who is doing it.
I know now ,there is no customer address on there , because GSP is handling it.
But do they put a returning address on the parcel?

My husband bought an item ($240.00).
The seller was from Tennessee.
The only tracking we got , startet in Canada and was from Pitney Bowes.
The item was defect and we returned it.
We thought the returning address looks strange, but if it is on the parcel it should
be right.
The returning address was:
Postmaster
45 Mural St. Unit 3
Richmond Hill ON
L4B 1J4
Later on we found out it is "Delivery Net Canada "
And that's the place where the parcel disappeared !

We shipped it on Nov.22/2014 and paid for the tracking and filed a money back request.
There was no responce from the seller.
We waited one week and with our tracking we could see someone picked it up.
We went to the "Ebay link" where it said," if the seller not responce...."
We clicked the link ,and... our request was CLOSED!!
There was no communication at all with the seller.

Under the written request we made at Ebay , only the sellers return address showed up from Tennessee !
We wrote another email to the seller.
2 weeks later he answered!
He told us ,he checked with Ebay and we never filed a request !
No Parcel - no money !!
We ask why is Richmond Hill on the parcel ?
Seller answer : Maybe you used the wrong parcel , or you bought from someone else.
They even gave us a website link with the same address ( Richmond Hill), and tried to tell
as that we bought something from that website??
That was the moment as I lost it !!
It was very clear written, the owner of that website is using Richmond Hill (Delivery Net ...) , as center for
returning parcels from Canada to USA.
Do they play a game with us ?
We also tried to file a request at Paypal... refused... because our request was closed already at Ebay !!

So, did the Ebay seller put a false return address on there ??
No Parcel, no money!!
Or did Pitney Bowes ?
We are still in "contact" with that seller !
Still the seller tells us on and on there is no parcel.
If he does not have the parcel, why did we got another email
on Dec.4/2014 from Ebay/Seller about a parcel which could not be delivered ???
Is that email from Ebay or from Global Shipping Program

I don't think that it is a center to return packages, it is one of the depots  where gsp packages get shipped to when they first enter Canada. The seller sends the package to Kentucky who then send it to a depot in Canada and from there it is sent to the buyer.Since the seller isn't sending the package directly to you, their return address would probably be covered up but a return should be sent back to them.

Did someone tell you to return it and to send it to the return address on the package? Did you send it back because there was damage in shipping or did the seller make a mistake?

Usually, if a gsp item is damaged in shipping the gsp will refund the buyer and not require a return. But if it was the seller's fault then the process varies.

Have you tried contacting Delivery Net Canada? When I googled them their phone number came up so perhaps they can help. If you contacted them, you might want to do that next.

You might also want to phone ebay so that you can explain to them what happened. When there is a problem with a gsp item the solution isn't always as straightforward as it should be.  Hopefully they can straighten this out on the phone.

Try taking it up with the american girl company itself. You have tracking showing it was received at the correct address for returns. If they sluff you off then do a chargeback with your credit card. Do not delay or you will loose your only recourse.

Since you bought this item with the global shipping program the only way to deal with damage or defective items is to open an item not as described case. Since you did not do that you got burned.

We have been ripped off in this manner before with no recourse since we are paying with a paypal balance not funded by a credit card. Lesson learned, if they use gsp then we buy directly from them instead. Too bad ebay!

Sorry, the American Girl was just an example. I try to show that other businesses using the Return Center as well.

The Ebay business we are dealing tried to convinced us , that my husband (71) was shopping at
http://www.hannaandersson.com/static.asp?pg=75

Here are parts from the  newest email from that Ebay "business" ,we dealing now with the manager :

"We have called eBay to get it straightened out. They say they have nothing on our account with your name."

Or:

"Did you by any chance do any business with a company called Amplifon or any eBay seller in Kitchener Ontario?"

My question: is it possible that an Ebay seller can delete their selling records?

Thank's Ulla

No. A seller cannot delete their records.

If a seller wants to leave eBay, there is a delay built in to the system to allow eBay and Paypal to collect any fees that may be owing and also to allow unhappy customers to complete Disputes and Claims.

For your original problem.

Did you get the return information from your seller?

Did you decide to send the item to Richmond Hill on your own?

Who exactly told you to return the item and who told you where to return it? (Not 'the seller ' or 'the shipper' but Emily Jones ebayseller Ottawa California or PitneyBowes Erlanger KY)

Tell your seller to check their Paypal records. Give them both your eBay ID and the email address you have used on your Paypal account. And of course your own personal name. They probably have all three, but having the names already makes the search go faster.

Some companies will not deal with problems if the item was not sold through an authorized retailer. Most eBay sellers are not authorized retailers. (This doesn't mean they are dishonest or selling something they don't own. Just that they are not buying from the manufacturer for resale.)

My husband got tonight his money back. Those seller on Ebay belong to a bigger company and it looks like it the manager had no idea what they are doing.

Anyway, thank you so much to everyone who replied.
