Hello Raphael,
I just got off the phone with a buyer from Montreal. She called to tell me that she received a package from me with all of the correct information, i.e. address, phone number, name, but she does not have an eBay or PayPal account and said she did not order this item. I told her I would look into it and that she could keep the item but she insists on returning it. It is nice to run into honest people like her.
So what do I do in this situation? There is another person listed as the buyer in PayPal but the addressee is the lady that phoned me. She does not know a person by the other name. The user id closely matches the other person's name.
Thanks.

I did a search for the user id and found that the actual user is registered as being in Alberta. She has been a member since January of this year and has 2 neg's as a seller. It appears that she sold an identical item, not mine, to 2 buyers, both of whom left negative feedback.

Hi westernstar,
Would you send me the item number so I can take a look? Thanks!

Hello Again Raphael...tis I again with an unanswered, unresolved & still happening problem.I know you are busy so I am patient but persistent.
I did as you asked last week and sent you a private message. You asked me to give you examples, etc. of the problem.
The problem is when I click the boxes beside the item/person's name then I click on the Add Tracking # - the result is SOME of the tracking #'s that were generated are beside the correct sale but others look like this (see attached file)
Repeated and WRONG track #'s.

Sent.
Thank you.

Hi pacificwinds,
Sorry, I just forgot to put that on the list in my opening post but I am tracking this. The Shipping team was alerted when you sent me the details and are looking into it. Thanks for your persistence, and don't forget to wipe those water drops from your computer screen! 😉

Why are listing variations (such as the same item of clothing in different sizes in one listing) only on ebay.com, and when will they be available on ebay.ca?
Also, on the help page, it clearly says "Buy It Now is free for all auction-style listings" and yet I've been getting charged for Buy It Now every single time I use it (or try to) when listing an auction, ever since I started my store. I would like to be credited for those charges.

Hi wonsxela,
Listing variations are available on eBay.ca but it's possible that some categories available on eBay.com may not be enabled on eBay.ca. In which category were you wanting to list with variations?
03-16-2016 04:28 PM
To my knowledge the category that I'm most interested in listing with variations isn't available on ebay.com either: Collectibles. A big part of my store is Pokemon cards and other collectible cards, and it would really help to be able to use listing variations for those, since they have relatively low values compared to other things people sell. For example, cards of the same rarity and/or from the same set could be grouped together, or those special promo cards from the World Championship decks could be grouped together. I see that a lot on ebay.com but they're usually in other (maybe irrelevant) categories, presumably ones that do allow listing variations.
Did you forget about my other question/request?

Another use for listing variations when it comes to trading cards is that the regular and holo/foil versions of the same card could be put in the same listing. (It was too late to edit my last post.)

Buy It Now option for Auctions is free for non-store sellers. Stores have to pay for for Buy It Now option for auctions.
When the fees changed last spring to give store sellers 100 free auctions in some categories (or the previous spring, I do not remember which update year), Buy It Now option was not included as free. Many store sellers complained about this at the time and still do.
Where are you reading that Buy It Now options for auctions is free? I checked the eBay store fees here
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/storefees.html
and there is no apparent mistake in the help page saying free Buy It Now for auctions. It shows that there are fees for using Buy It Now for auctions.
If I check the fee for non-stores here
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/fees.html
it clearly states that auction Buy It Now option is free in the Basic Fees section.

From http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/fees.html :
Basic fees
What you get for free
Insertion fees for your first 50 listings per calendar month are free (exclusions apply). Learn more about monthly free-insertion-fee listings.
Buy It Now is free for all auction-style listings (exclusions apply).
Up to12 pictures per listing are free with eBay picture hosting, including zoom and enlarge features.
It doesn't make any sense that non-stores, who pay no monthly fees, get a perk that stores, who provide Ebay with regular guaranteed income, don't.
03-16-2016 06:19 PM
I just wanted to point out to you that you were charged correctly for the Buy It Now option for auctions when you have a store.
Non-store pay for this perk with higher FVF rate of 10% versus 4% to 9% FVF for stores.

Yeah I guess. Thanks.

Hi again,
What you are wanting to do with variations is actually against eBay policy. Variations are supposed to be used for same items with... variations. Using the feature for similar but different items is not allowed.
Collectibles being more of then than not one-off items or OOAK (thanks pocomo!), it doesn't make sense to have variations enabled for that category.

That would be OK, however I would argue that your cards are probably more easily discovered if they are in separate listings.

Pocomo addressed this perfectly already 🙂
