Memory is going... going... gone.

As we get older, short term memory often shows signs of failing.  It is part of the aging process.

These was this couple living in the London area, in their early 80's, marrried for fifty-five years. They had memory problems and went to see their doctor.  After testing, the doctor told them there was nothing wrong with them but suggested they write things down to assist them when things are forgotten.

One night while watching TV the husband gets up and his wife asked "where are you going?"

"To get a snack" he replied

"Could you please bring me a piece of cake at the same time" she asked

"Sure. no problem"

"You better write it down or you will forget" she insisted

"Don't worry about it, I will not forget" he said

"Could you also bring me strawberries with the cake?" she asked

"Sure. no problem"

"You better write it down or you will forget" she insisted

"Don't worry about it, I will not forget" he said

Could you please bring me whipped cream on top of the straberries" she asked

"Sure. no problem"

"You better write it down or you will forget" she insisted

"Don't worry about it, I will not forget" he said

Thirty minutes go by.....

The husband finally comes back to the living room with a plate of bacon and eggs for his wife.

"You stupid - I told you to write it down - I knew you would forget my toasts"
