FB for shipping charges? Exactly! eBay wants us to incorporate the cost of shipping in asking price to charge us more for final value fee....

To be fair to both buyers and sellers, how about a rating system for buyers? Sellers could rate them on how fast they paid and on their communication. Oh right, I forgot, Ebay doesn't care about sellers, only buyers! Of course Americans are going to judge Canadian seller's shipping rates as too high and our shipping times too slow, most of them don't even know they are buying from a Canadian seller. Hey, I've got no problem with it. If you have nothing to hide and you're doing nice job on eBay it's only a +. And, NO it's not complicated. Don't tink that you'll get a 10 rating all the time. personnaly I tink a 8 out of ten is pretty much good.

Just for the heck of it I looked at the Weird Stuff category and saw some cute but a little crude gag items. I would have purchased them for some practical jokers in my family but did not because of the new feedback system which shows your purchases in plain sight for everyone to see.

As a buyer only, I would have no problem with that. As a seller I don't want my customers to see those purchases.

So 2 sellers lost a sale last night because of the new feedback system. And many more in the future I am sure from me and others for the same reason.

I have thought about doing that but haven't read up on how many ID's you can have on eBay at one time. I am also thinking of creating another ID to sell items on .com that are shipped from the States.

I mentioned it on another thread but did not get an answer regarding how many you are allowed to have. Guess I could have started a new thread but is was related to the topic (can't remember in what way now).

I don't recall seeing anything restricting the number of user ID's you can open; you must have a different email address for each. I have 2 selling ID's and one I keep just for buying.
There is a restriction on the number of Paypal accounts you can have - one premier and one personal.

Thanks for the info on ID's and accounts. Now I will have to put my imagination to work!!]:) Just kidding eBay. I am not having a good day. It just seems that scammers can get away with anything on eBay and I find it very discouraging. And the competition from a seller who sells low and charges excessive fees for S/H is killing my business. I could do the same but won't sink to that level. I was told at eBay U. to report them which I did. Ha, ha. The biggest waste of energy I every expended.

Sorry about all of the negative stuff I am spewing out today but that is the way I feel. But tomorrow is another day! I'll think about it tomorrow.

I think we need to understand new 5 star feedback better, and also to make it understand to our new buyers. The star shown in our feedabcks are not giving full information to the new buyers. The meaning of all 5 stars (according to ebay) is as follows for all the parameters:

1) How accurate was the item description?

*(one yellow star): Very inaccurate
**(two yellow star): Inaccuarte
***(three yellow star): Neither inaccurate nor accurate
****(four yellow star): Accurate
*****(five yellow star): Very accurate

2) How satisfied were with you with the seller's communication?

*(one yellow star): Very unsatisfied
**(two yellow star): unsatisfied
***(three yellow star): Neither unsatisfied nor satisfied
****(four yellow star): satisfied
*****(five yellow star): Very satisfied

3) How quickly did the seller ship the item?

*(one yellow star): Very slowly
**(two yellow star): slowly
***(three yellow star): Neither slowly nor quickly
****(four yellow star): quickly
*****(five yellow star): Very quickly

1) How reasonable were the shipping and handling charges?

*(one yellow star): Very unreasonable
**(two yellow star): unreasonable
***(three yellow star): Neither unreasonable nor reasonable
****(four yellow star): Reasonable
*****(five yellow star): Very reasonable

If we see the above criteria for rating then one can easily make out that It is very difficult to make a difference between four and five star rating. I personally don't see any difference between a reasonable and very reasobale/accurate or very accurate/satisfied or very satisfied or quickly/very quickly and it lot depends on individual's(buyer) perception as how they differentiate between these terms for your best possible efforts to satisfy them(buyers). According to me all rating above four is top grade/best grade. We just need to put information about this criteria of new feedaback in our description for buyers(more important for new buyers) to understand it better. I look forward for your suggestions.

I think that buyers rate this for the time it takes them to get it, not for the seller to ship it. If they rated it right it would be fair. If they don't we are rated on the shipping company's speed of shipping, not ours.

I'm receiving less and less feedbacks lately...
I don't know what ot who to blame... summer or the new feedback system?
Before the new FS I was getting about 50% feedbacks from all sales... now is way bellow 20%... :_|

Did anybody else noticed it? or it is just me being a little woo hoo?
