PowerSeller Benefits

PowerSellers receive numerous benefits, just for enrolling in the program.

* Membership is FREE, eBay automatically invites qualified sellers via email
* Members receive a certificate of achievement
* Prioritized customer support by email or telephone, depending on the level
* Monthly promotional news sources from eBay featuring special offers and advanced selling education
* Invitations to participate in special events such as eBay On the Road and online seminars
* And more!

Well, "Members receive a certificate of achievement" did anyone ever get one? "Invitations to participate in special events such as eBay On the Road" ebay has NEVER held one in Quebec. PSSST! re "and more" what's more?

It would seem that eBay.CA doesn't value its PS in the same way .COM does its PS.

The US PS Board actually has pinks WOW!

Not only do they get gifts once in a while but on .COM they have access to the eBay Store AND WOW the PS ebay Store while WE, the poor cousins, do not even have access or a link or possibility of using PayPal or International cc. .

The Alcone Marketing Group sells eBay merchandise. US PS can pay using PayPal (an ebay owned company) while we... can't. Alcone does not accept PayPal or cc from International users.

I just phoned Alcone I spoke to Debra who transfered me to Irene (responsible for eBay stuff). Irene has a anonymous mail box. press # whatever to leave a message. I phoned back, spoke to Debra again who transferred me to Shang. Shang has a mailbox where something is said. I left a message and phone number.

Rest of the story if and when I get a call back.

You can also call at: 949-770-4400 in CA and ask them what's up. I am certain that Shang would love to hear from you as well...

What is advertised for the US Power sellers is not what is readily or easily available either however there is a broad difference. eBay is a US company and .ca is but a satellite business, just like UK, Australia and China that they are developing for 2005.

We pay the same or more in fees, get hit with exchange at rates that are off the charts and if you say too much about it, you will get a Pink slap or threaatened suspension. I got 2 Pink slaps a week ago for suggesting there was a difference between US and CA due to discrimintaion.

Certificates were mailed out 2-years ago along with some business cards and marketing literature and that was the end of that. When US Power Sellers were receiving trinkets 1 1/2 years ago, eBay ca didnt follow suit nor did they last month when US Power Sellers received more eBay stuff.

But remember one of their marketing slogans that we are all equal here. Its just that some or more equal than others.

Pinks left our board almost 2-years ago after posting that they would become more active on it.

I have never received any support or responses to emailed inquiries I made so I now treat eBay just as a tool to list in the cheapest way possible to maximize my profits.

Right now I have nothing listed and will hold off listing anything until after February 18th and then decide if I will list on eBay or start up on a couple of other auction sites.

With regards to China I wonder if eBay is going to run a trial period to compare the number of transactions and income vs. that which will be lost from North America by no longer selling the same Chinese merchandise.

... thanks for reinforcing Malcolm 🙂

I am also in the process of reorganizing.

I have scheduled my listings to end before Feb 18.
I am deciding what to list at auction and what to put in my eBay store for 120 days. Most items will be in my ebay store for 120 days. Considering the asking price of what I sell, I am a prime target for ebay. I do not appreciate being considered a target.

I hope that by then the powers that be will have come to their senses.

There is an advantage to an off eBay store and I have one.
This week, I was approached through that route by a magazine in the USA (most of my clients are there). The Editor wants to use some of my pictures and quote me in an article to be published in the coming months. They give credit for participation. This should help increase the visibility of my off eBay store. It could not come at a better time.

I did get an email a week ago asking if I would take part in a media newscast discussing ebay.

I politely declined, informing them that I am closing my store and would not be a very good interviewee on Ebays behalf.

So they do know we are here, albeit just barely. Perhaps when it suits their needs.

Surprising they didnt read any of your posts in advance of asking you though. That would have tipped them off that you have concerns over how they rule their nest.

I have hundreds of items over $1,000 that I would love to list just as you currently do but after they increased their listing fees last year I had to refrain and had been listing only those items which sell between $100 and $400 USD.

I dont understand eBay, they would have made much more money off me in FVF as would PayPal instead of thinking that I was going to keep on listing expensive items.

Once again I am changing how I list on eBay (or if I list) and the result will mean far less revenues from me for eBay. They took over $1,000 in fees in December from me, $120 in January and $0 in February, so far.

So keep on trying to get money out of me, it just isnt going to happen unless you bring me profitable business and charge me a fair price for that service!

WOW Malcolm that's a big decrease LOL

I just listed 8 items for 120 days, more later today and tomorrow. That's not much so far but I am trying to stretch it as far as I can.
