I've been using UPS for 3 years.

1. Had the Fed-ex rep in this year and they couldn't touch the rates UPS is giving me.

2. I've shipped 1000's of electrical lamps over the border via UPS and NEVER have I been required to fill out an FCC form.

3. UPS provides me with a free thermal printer, labels, sleeves and the software to develop all of my shipments and upload them to UPS.

4. I could have UPS come daily for a pick-up...used to in fact...but why pay $6/week? I click a box to request a pick-up each day while I'm uploading my shipment info and they've never not shown up.

5. Tracking is fantastic and I didn't have a single shipment go missing or arrive late this Christmas season.

I'm not saying you should go with UPS over Fed-ex or Purolator (although Lord knows you SHOULD go courier over Canada Post!). I'm just saying SHOP AROUND. Have all the reps in and see who is willing to give you the best deal.

We did phone UPS, Purolator & Fed-Ex. Purolator cancelled 2 appointments and never showed up, period. Fed-Ex came in with a discount of 2% better than UPS. I have since negotiated an additional 5% with them due to my shipping weights. Although we don't ship many boxes, the weight is factored in (averaging 25-45 lbs) as of late. Service has been superb. I gladly pay the $6 a week as I have figured I cannot drive to either CP or the Fed-Ex Depot once (time, gas, hauling the boxes included) for that amount.

As for the FCC forms, I may just be erring on the side of caution however, my very first time I used Fed-Ex (I physicaly took the parcels to their depot) the counter clerk, when informed what i was shipping told me I had to use the FCC forms. And i suppose out of habit, I have used those forms each time I ship something with an ac plug. I am going to search on-line for more info and perhaps phone US customs to see if the forms are necessary or just overkill on my part. Having rambled on, the point is, I wil remain with Fed-Ex, enjoying my healthy discount, excellent tracking, superb customer service and would not even consider going back to CP until the day they could match the rates and offer me daily pick up.

Bold is an understatement! I never seen anyone post that they are routinely engaged in the falsification of Customs documents.

Hopefully you dont get in a big argument with anyone, and cause them to want to report the thread to law enforcement, as this looks to me, like a complete confession!.
