Paying by Credit Card - Checkout page: Confirm & Pay button grayed out (not working)

Hi,

Not sure why I cannot purchase an item.

When I went to the checkout page to pay with my credit card, I filled out everything (Name on Card, Credit card number, expiry date, security code + Billing address ), but still the "Confirm & Pay" button is grayed out, I cannot click on it.

At the bottom of the Confirm & Pay button, there is still the message "Select a payment option", even though I have selected the Credit Card option.

What is the issue????

Thanks

eBay recently has been having many site problems, and this could explain for why you can't purchase the item. Maybe somebody else has gone through this same thing and could know what to do. Try different things to buy it...you never know. You may find a solution that works.

That's a bummer! Yes, I have tried to buy other things, still the same problem 😞

Do you know if there are any email or live chat service to contact ebay?

Thanks!

Re: Paying by Credit Card - Checkout page: Confirm & Pay...

eBay currently does not have a like chat or email for contacting them, but you can call them by visiting http://ocsnext.ebay.ca/ocs/cuhome?from_ocs=1. Just be warned that eBay CS (customer service) will probably not be able to fix your problem.
Hope this helps you!

Re: Paying by Credit Card - Checkout page: Confirm & Pay...

Hey Alex, got it all figured out now. After filling in all the info I have to click the "Add Card" button. It's totally confusing when that important step is next to the "Save to ebay" option, which I don't want my credit details to be saved in ebay.
Thank you so much for your help ! 🙂

Re: Paying by Credit Card - Checkout page: Confirm & Pay...

Frankly I would sign up for Paypal.

This is a free service to the buyer . We sellers do pay fees.

Paypal masks your financial information to eBay and to the seller, wherever in the world she is.

In addition, PP gives you another level of Buyer protection.

EBay protects you for 30 days after estimated delivery.

PP for a full 180 days from purchase.

And if you back your PP account with a credit card, your payment is truly instant, you can pay at your leisure, and you have a third level of protection from the card's chargeback program.

If you have ordered, and are having trouble paying, use the Contact Seller button to explain the delay. Just a courtesy thing, but it helps.

Hmm.... is the item available to Canadian buyers? Was there a specific price for shipping to Canada when you opened the Shipping tab?

Re: Paying by Credit Card - Checkout page: Confirm & Pay...

Hello 'moonpie...',

<<When I went to the checkout page to pay with my credit card,......but still the "Confirm & Pay" button is grayed out,>>

With the recent restyling of the checkout page, the obvious choice seems to be to click the "confirm and pay", just like always.  But no, anything that seems too easy and obvious  won't do here.

You do not need to click to 'save your card to ebay' if, as you say, you do not want to.

What you need to do is after you have entered all your info, you need to click to Continue on the left portion of the page under your card info, and then over on the right the Confirm button will light up and be available.

You an uncheck the pre-checked  'save your card to ebay' option and do this.

You can further go to your Account page (click the My eBay at the top of the page) and choose Personal Information

From the Financial Information section at the bottom, you can Edit to remove your card info if you wish.

It's all super easy once you get the hang of it. Smiley Happy
