Paying monthly bill

So I want to start putting 3-400 a week on my monthly ebay bill but just want to make sure I will still get the 20% discount on everything owed for that month and not just whats left owing ...

can anyone confirm it all works the same no matter how I pay it

"putting 3-400 a week on my monthly ebay bill"

???

Why would you want to do that?

Get yourself a credit card with rewards (such as MasterCard AirMiles for example).

Use that credit card to pay your eBay fees if billed in Canadian dollars. The results is that you get AirMiles on your eBay fees.  I have done it for years and have accumulated thousands of Airmiles.

Then, if you wish, you can make weekly payment on your MasterCard even of there is no balance.

You win all around: pay no interest and get the rewards 🙂

If your fees are charged in US$, the same results can be achieved but it is a bit more complicated to set up properly.

The eligibility to the discount is calculated by eBay once a month (on the 20th).  How and when you pay it is irrelevant except that your account must be current (not in arrears) to be eligible.

20% discount only if your DSRs are very good.  If it is lower than eBay expected you lost 20% until it is improved.  I lost my 20% discount one month just because of the shipping cost which nearly all my buyers are not happy with even they knew it is actual postage rates that we are paying for the heavy items but NO, they still are not happy regardless of what!!

20% discount is not automatically given to any sellers unless your DSRs are very good and that is where you earn your 20% discount.  You have to watch your DSRs every few weeks to see how the ratings are.  Actually I think eBay needs to retire the DSRs as they are so unfair.

There is no easy way around that problem for Canadian sellers who generally experience higher shipping costs than our competitors South of the border.

One suggestion that works for some sellers: move some of the shipping cost into the price of the item.

For example, if an item sells for $15.00 and the shipping cost is $14.00, it may be preferable to list at $22.00 and charge $7.00 for shipping.  It does not change the amount paid by the buyer ($29.00) nor the fees paid to eBay (FVF are calculated on $29). However, you may find less buyers complaining.
