Paypal - Holds Payment Monies

I have an buyer that paid for an item through paypal, I pmail the item, got positive feedback, then paypal removes the monies and puts a hold on it putting my account in the negative. I contacted the buyer and asked why the dispute, he responds says his credit card is passed its limit and paypal reverses the payment. So I go through the process of providing info for paypal now were waiting for paypal to make up its mind. In the mean time I have payments on items I have purchased yet paypal will not allow me to use my account since it is in the negative, I have made a transfer of funds from my bank account to paypal yet it still takes 6 days to go through. Any suggestions???? On what we sould do.

First you should contact those sellers whom you owe money to and explain to them what is going on. You have about two weeks from the date of sale to get payment to them so you should be ok if paypal says it takes 6days for your bank transfer to be credited to your account.

Alternatively you ask the sellers what other form of payment they would accept - ie: Money order, BidPay, etc.

Paypal is in no hurry to resolve the matter since they make money eitherway - you can call them everyday and push them to get some action - talk to a supervisor if you can get one and explain your case.

My experience is they are not to accommodating so do not count on it.

Good Luck

Paypal - Holds Payment Monies

Thanks Tim that's what I thought, Except it puzzles me that if the fellows creit was over limit why did paypal allow to go through, thus insuring me every thing was ok then after the fellow get's his card and post positive feedback then payment is reversed, I smell a cheat, I do keep through records and tracking numbers so paypal should find it in our favour, and as per this fellow, even though we like sales he'll go on the blocked list.

Good question. Why did paypal allow the transaction to go through when he had exceeded his limit? Every tiny little store and even craft show vendors verify the funds before they give you the goods. Why would an organization like paypal which handles massive numbers of credit card transactions not check their limit first?

I would really be interested in knowing the answer to that one!

Paypal - Holds Payment Monies

We had a similiar ocurrance lately with a buyer from BC who to our knowledge paid for the item and 24hrs after we shipped the item we get an email notice from paypal stating a BANK REVERSAL - so they freeze the funds (US$600) and the buyer gets the item. Luckily for us we followed the rules and the sale was covered by SPP - ten days later the funds are released. 24HRs after the funds are released the buyer files a ITEM NOT AS DECRIBED and once again paypal freezes the money.

Buyer contacts us via email wanting to return the item because apparrantly someone accessed her bank account without her permission (Ya Right) -- We check her recent purchases and sure enough she is buying things left and right consistantly during the period which she claims her bank account was illegally accessed.

We relay this information to paypal and are still awaiting their final decision.

Cheers,
