After 2 months of testing I can say that Canadian account listing on eBay.ca has exactly same or perhaps even better performance than US account listing on eBay.com

Both accounts were PowerSellers and had Premium Store. Using same listings, same keywords, but visually distinctive. Same buyers have been making inquiries and orders within minutes from one account then from another, but nobody discovered we are same seller.

Canadian account (this one) has been listing CanadaPost services with 1-2w delivery time to USA, while US account was listing USPS services. Little difference, seems many US buyers are ignorant of the concept of international sale or do not care.

Recped, I was talking pre-sale. What I meant Americans buying on eBay are NOT patriots in a sense "Buy American".

My personal view is that they generally don't notice, I reguarly have US customers surprised that I am from Canada......

Same here. But I also have regularly Canadian Buyers who ask me to mark parcel as a gift, so they don't have to pay duties... 😄

Are you asking about the buyers who ask it to be marked as a gift?

The Albertans usually seem to notice that I'm in Alberta...so I think that they are all out of province. There was someone from Ottawa once...:^O

I was concerned about the traffic. Important is that buyers make it to our listings and we are not treated as second class citizens on eBay.com. It also shows that not many buyers restrict their search to "US Only".

The only thing holding us back is CanadaPost. Now China Post has signed some agreement with USPS and soon Chinese sellers will be able to utilize USPS tracking directly. Ironic.

I read about that too. So many complaints about items sent from China and now they are making it even easier to ship it to the U.S. Sheesh.

Is this the same sort of agreement that Canada Post and USPS have? We can see their tracking on the CP service. Same with Royal Mail (UK). There are probably others.
