Persistent Blocked Buyer

I  blocked a buyer this morning who lowballed me an offer, remarking in the note how atrocious the 9.99 shipping cost was (she was in the US). So I declined their offer and blocked them. Buyer is highly agitated now and has sent me two nasty emails so far and threatened that they reported me to eBay announcing "I will be hearing from them soon". Lol. I'm sure ebay will get riiiight on that.

Anyways, If I blocked this Bee why am I still getting messages from her?

It's been a while since I've done this, but you can block buyers from sending you messages.

Go to the site map under buyer requirements and you can check "Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me."

Update: She just sent me another message saying, in reference to her reporting me to eBay, "Helps to know people, doesn't it? Ever been to San Jose?"

Sigh. Sometimes I wonder why I don't just dump all my unwanteds off at good will and never visit this site again, haha.

Thank you. It took a little searching but I found it. I assumed by default the block would prevent them from messaging me as well. Ahh sweet relief.

I had a jerk like that about shipping after he purchased. He paid and of course 30 days later filed an INR claim so he could get it free as well as all his shipping back.

As postage costs continue to escalate and our tracking is so ridiculous in price, be prepared for more of this. You know Ebay supports happy buyer, and Ebay and Paypal keep fees.

You might also Report the member to eBay for harrassment.

Dollars to donuts this ain't her first time as a rodeo clown.

And we both know Ebay can't read and will do zilch.

Block the buyer and move on. If the buyer creates a new account, call in and report the linked account, if you have information to confirm it is. Per an ebay supervisor, policy is to give buyers a lot of rope to hang themselves. If they elect to try to circumvent the block, then that is evidence of said rope. Otherwise you are in your rights to block any buyer you want, for whatever reason you want. That is eBay's compromise.

How does one report a buyer when a transaction hasn't actually been made? I haven't been able to find this option, the only option I see is to enter an item number of the transaction and then report the buyer.

From the home page --> Help & Contact --> Selling --> Resolving Selling Problems --> Report a member --> Click Contact US and phone in and talk to someone.

I think that eBay does listen sometimes. I and another member here reported another buyer for purchasing our patterns and copying them when they were still copyright. I just noticed a few days ago that she is no longer selling.

In a case like that register with the vero program and fill a vero complaint. Most of the complaints regarding copying of materials are no longer reviewed by reps and are directed to the vero department. There are some hoops to jump through to join the program but may be worth it in your case.

Persistent Blocked Buyer

I have a persistent blocked buyer.  I mostly blocked him because he was an annoyance and seemed inexperienced and possibly insane, though maybe he just has poor social etiquette.  He first started by trying to barter on the price of one of my items.  I usually ignore those messages if I'm not accepting best offers on the item.  If the setting for best offer is not on in the listing then I'm not accepting best offers.  He was quite persistent as I ignored his messages then proceeded to ask specific details pertaining to the item - to which I answered by updating the listing to include the details he was asking about - not wanting to get too personal by sending him messages as he seemed a bit unstable.  He then purchased the item but immediately cancelled the order saying something about the price going up when he purchased ???  Again I felt that he might be unstable as he had emailed me 10 times in one day and seemed impatient for a response.  After he cancelled the purchase he immediately started emailing that he still wanted to purchase it.  This was causing me more trouble than the $25 t shirt is worth so I blocked him and have not relisted the item.  Since I blocked him he has requested my information (twice in 3 hours) from ebay WHICH THEY PROVIDED.  I don't think the system should provide your info to a buyer if you've blocked them.  I understand that he had purchased an item from me but the transaction was cancelled on both sides and the buyer was blocked AFTER this process.  Ebay needs to update their system.  Last night the guy called me twice after midnight on a weekday.  I blocked his number on my cell phone but really Ebay should solve this issue of giving out personal information to blocked buyers.  I also realize he could obtain all of my information through PayPal because he made a transaction then cancelled it.  Hopefully he doesn't end up at my door trying to buy a t shirt off me lol.

Thanks!
