Please Wake Up Canada Post/ E-Bay

I would like some feedback form other Power Sellers or comments from E-bay itself.

With our dollar on the continued rise and Canada Post once again raising fees it must be obvious to E-bay that American buyers are slowing following of the map for us Canadian sellers. The attraction in the past has been our lower dollar thus giving them more bang for their buck buying from us. Why would they want to buy South now when our freight rates and selling fees don't really show any savings or advantage? I like most of you have spent time adding more listings and spicing up my store and offering buying incentives, lowering selling costs, loosing money on freight charges and mostly now seeing the same items cheaper North. Profit levels are way down with our current exchange rates

What I would like to know is Canada Post or E-Bay even concerned in the least. When are they collectively going to look at making some changes and offering more affordable freight rates and better shipping options? How hard can it be for someone to come up with a freight calculator for us? When you quote people the actual freight charges and try to explain about our fuel surcharge and our GST charge they just take a pass and think we over charge. Let them punch in their postal code and see the actual rates it has to help.I have been told for two years now that this so called calculator is coming What gives already???. Canada Post is doing more then ok from us sellers. It's time for change and some action instead of this sitting on our hands mentality and we'll see what happens. Let get moving somebody please!

There I feel better now Thanks!!

Glad you feel better....

Neither eBay or Canada Post can or will do anything for you. I've been in the import/export business for 30 years, it's always better to be on one side or another. Right now it's best to be an importer but we have had a long period, almost 10 years, where the opposite was true.

This is fact of life in international trade, you need to adapt or change your business model. Until oil prices crash or interst rates in the USA rise dramatically don't expect to see any weakening of the Canadian Dollar at least not vis-a-vis the US Dollar.

Ben,

A question not about this topic. I notice that you no longer accept Paypal. Do you find that you have more or less buyers ? And do they find it easier to pay you ? Or getting more NPB ?

I was asking because thinking of not accepting PAYPAL anymore but was scared that buyers would not bid on my auctions ? Your feedback would be appreciated.
