Like some of you my packages are late in arriving, resulting in Paypal chargebacks without the buyers inquiring by email for explanation.Once Paypal gets the Transaction dispute going, the Canadian seller has basically no-where to turn.First off they do not let you give an explaintion as to how long items take to arrive at certain countries, they just want you to refund of give poof of sending.See following note as this is the reply options they give you----
Resolve Complaint
Issue the buyer a full refund.
I can provide tracking information.
The buyer has already been refunded and I can provide proof of the previous refund.
There is nowhere to give them any info. Will you as a seller charge a buyer shipping of $12.00 expedited with tracking number on a $3.00 item weighing under 250 grams??? Also if you do not give the refund and Paypal decides to take funds from your Paypal account they can also take another $10.00 as well.Paypal is a great tool for buyers on the internet, check out this example---You buy a item for say $200.00,tell the seller you do not want tracking number and to send as small packet. You receive item them proceed to Paypal website and put through claim that item was not received and you want your money back.It is pretty much a done deal as Paypal will freeze the sellers account for the amount (including shipping costs)and if the seller does not give proof with tracking number or a billof of lading that is stamped, expect the money back in approx 1 month.Pure theft for anyone who wishes to proceed with this and the seller suffers the loss, and a sweet deal for the fraudulent buyer. This has happened to me before and the buyer had the gall to email me with the info he had done so and then changed his email address afterwards.ANOTHER THOUGHT--It does not matter to Paypal what type of terms you have regarding shipping in your Auction/Store ads as they do not apply in any way regarding chargebacks.Your only safeguard is to NOT accept Paypal for goods under 1kg outside Canada unless signature is required to get the goods sent.
With the new postal rates + the new Ebay fees upon us,Canadian sellers will be joining the dinosaurs as being extinct soon.Good Luck to you as you are going to need lots of it to compete with the U.S.
