Presale Listing Question - PlayStation 4

Hello,

I have a quetion about listing a PlayStation 4 pre-order. I believe that if I were to list it today, with a ten-day auction and no BIN option, and a 29 day handling time, I would not be within violation of the presale listing policy.

The presale listing policy found here - http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/pre-sale.htmlFound - states that you must be able to ship the item within thirty days of the purchase date - note that it says purchase date, not listing date. If I list the PlayStation 4 pre-order today, with a ten day duration, the auction will end within thirty days of the release date of November 15, 2013, and so long as I specify the appropriate handling time before shipping (from when the auction ends until the actual date I ship) I will not be in violation - the policy page even gives an example exactly like this.

The problem is, whenever I try to list my PlayStation 4, ebay automatically blocks it and says that the item is not released within the next 30 days so it cannot be listed according to the presale item policy and links to that very same page where it says that this will be ok as long as all the criteria are met!

If anybody has any information as to why this might be, please let me know, but according to everything on the presale listing policy this should be allowed at this point as the auction will end within thirty days of release and my handling time specifies the appropriate amount of time until actual shipping.

Thank you for any further information.

Cheers

Presale Listing Question - PlayStation 4

Take a look at the announcement on eBay.com announcement board regarding pre-sale of new Apple products.  In the past, similar rules have applied to PlayStation and similar high demand products:

http://announcements.ebay.com/2013/09/how-to-list-upcoming-apple-products-successfully-to-meet-buyer...

Very specifically:

..."be allowed to list the latest Apple products on eBay, 30 days prior to the launch date..."

So, eBay is specific: you cannot list 37 or 40 days before lauch date on the basis the listing duration is 7 or 10 days.  Preselling can only start within 30 days of release date.

Good Luck.

Not sure if you're a Canadian seller, but this may help you: I was just on the phone with eBay customer support (this is the FOURTH time I've called in with the exact same problem you're having) and they told me just TODAY they received an "update" that Canadian accounts are unable to list the Playstation 4. They have no idea why. I know it doesn't solve your problem but might save you some time on the phone.

Customer service info is not always accurate. I don't know if that is true in this case but the link that Pierre provided has this:

"Only sellers registered in the United States or Canada on eBay.com, eBay Motors, or eBay Canada, will be able to participate in this event."

Have you tried listing it on .com?

It is important to read all the terms and conditions (and links)

Sellers must comply to minimum Seller Performance standards to be allowed one listing per month:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

Best to check the Seller Dashboard to confirm Performance status.
