Question about returning a not as described item

Hello I have a question about returning an item not as described. The seller accepted that the item was not as described and now it says I have to ship the item within 7 days. I wasn't sure if I had to just ship and put the tracking number within 7 days or does that mean that the seller HAS to receive the item within 7 days. Because my shipping options costs 80$ (more than the item) if I send it express with tracking number, but I also have an option to send by boat (30~days) for 40$ with a tracking number. So I wasn't sure if I could use the latter option since it's over 7 days. Thanks for your help!

Don't use Surface. It will not arrive within the period Paypal allows for Confirmation of Delivery.

Ignore anything else the seller tells you. He is blowing smoke. The important standards are set by Paypal.

Frankly, I would stop talking to the seller. He seems to be messing you about. Open the Paypal dispute immediately.

Remember that if PP does not find in your favour and refund you, you can also go to the credit card you used to back the PP payment. (PP is just a mediator.) While cc deadines for chargebacks are longer, they also want to see that you have returned the unwanted item. Some will accept Proof of Shipping, but not all.

Oh, and Surface is NOT 30 days. It is more like two to three months. Canada Post is an optimistic organization.
