Question about selling on ebay

No. Sellers who want offers on their product put a Best Offer option on their listings to let bidders know that they are open to these. Without the BO option, bidders should know that your asking price is firm.

New sellers often get these lowball ($100 less? sheesh!) offers from bottomfeeders who know that newbies are often panicked when they have no bids and it is late in the day. These BO's are often from resellers who know they can get a better price for the item than you can.

Keep in mind that most bids come in the last few hours or even minutes of an auction.

Politely invite him to bid.

If he does not, put him on your Blocked Bidder List.He will never be a good customer.

If you were to end your auction and sell to him, you would forfeit your Seller Protection on the sale. He would still have Paypal's Buyer Protection. You would miss the potential bidders who have electronic snipe bids set up. You would miss the buyers who search "ending soonest" for deals.

There is no benefit to you to accept his offer and many problems.

I should also add that the offer he is making is $100 lower then what I'm asking. The auction ends in 13hours and there are currently 0 bids.  So was wanting to accept but just wanted to make sure if that was allowed or not first.

If the listing you are speaking about is NOT an "or best offer" type of listing, you are not required to even consider any offers. But, you can if you would like to.

That answer is kind of confusing.

Would I be breaking any ebay rules by accepting the offer?

Should I just wait until the auction is over (in 10 hours or so) and then msg him with a response? There's no bids at this point so not sure if it'd make a difference holding off or not.

Question about selling on ebay

Hi 13bdevil.. For your information here is eBay policy on offers outside the Best Offer option for eBay listing..

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/policies/rfe-spam-non-ebay-sale.html

A unique item that will not be of interest to the broad eBay community . Your options are to let it ride for the remaining few hours. As femmefan stated , bids are often placed in the final minutes. Or if you are entirely happy , end listing and set up a Buy it Now. Use the member's ID for title and send the item # once posted. Give member a stated time frame to accept or will revert back to original title.
