Ok, so I've gazed into my crystal ball and this is what I see...
Yes, eBay.ca will come up with a number of new initiatives to, in their view, offer assistance to Canadian sellers to increase profitability. Unfortunately, for many who look closely, the initiatives will do more for eBay's bottom line than Canada's frustrated and increasingly penniless sellers.
Oh, and in case you want to know how accurate my crystal ball is, it also predicts that the Leafs will once again NOT win the Stanley Cup.

Probably accurate...because this time they will have run the "initiatives" by .com for approval before jumping in and as a result they will actually have little or no benefit.

Within mere hours of my initial post, Bill Cobb wanders in with one of eBay's initiatives to "increase" seller profitability by taking another bite of fees (some core listing fees and final value fees will increase on January 30th).
Thanks, Jordan, for all your hard work on our behalf. On second thought, maybe I'd prefer that you spend less time worrying about my profitability and how to structure it so that eBay can take a bigger piece of it.
